SCBills Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Republican Self Reflection after last night: -Handed the sweep to Virginia due to the shutdown. We’re never winning the Governorship with Sears, but the shutdown pulled Jay Jones over Jason Miyares due to insane turnout in NoVa and sent R’s into the wilderness for the next decade in Virginia. -New Jersey showed how poorly Trump/Republicans have done on the economy. This was a rebuke of the first year due to kitchen table issues and R’s failure to come through on promises made on the affordability front. -NYC/Mamdami shows how effective Democrats tactic of importing voters can be. The crown jewel of America, overtaken by a leader elected by foreign born voters. We’ve seen this happen in places across the country, but now it’s there - in the open. So what do Republicans do about it? There’s nothing racist or xenophobic about acknowledging the fact that importing a government dependent voting base will favor, not just Democrats.. but far left DSA Democrats like Mamdami, Fateh etc.

But the difference between Giuliani (before senility) and Bloomberg vs. Dinkins and De Blasio and (I fear) Mamdani is pretty stark. That's where the mayor makes an on-the-ground difference. Just out of curiosity. Are you supporting his communist agenda or are you against it?

And so it has always been in NYC, which would of course be a Dutch island like Curacao if it hadn't been. Big influxes of Eastern European Jews, Catholic Irish and Italians, Puerto Ricans, not to mention southern blacks and New England bankers. You may have a point that we should look at naturalization laws ... are they too lax? Do they allow too many people to become U.S. citizens too quickly? I'm actually kind of mystified by how much time we spend on birthright citizenship (which is in the constitution) vs. naturalization, which is expressly a power of Congress to change as they see fit.

Of course I'm not supporting his agenda. I would've held my nose and voted for Cuomo. Again, look at De Blasio and then at Mamdani. They are the same. NY survived one, it'll survive the other. Some day sanity will return to our politics. I doubt I'll live to see it, but ... someday.

The rest of what you typed is mostly nonsense... 1
SCBills Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago This is probably pretty spot on, as well as predictive.

His entire voting base was foreign born voters and young transplants. The only bright side Republicans had last night was Long Island staying red with Suozzi surviving because he disavowed any support for Mamdami.
