B-Man Posted August 26 Posted August 26 The game being played here is obvious. Left-wing judges are trying to push a standard by which every single one of the millions of illegal immigrants in the United States can simply claim a "reasonable fear" of being deported as a way to stop the deportation process. There is no reason to believe that Abrego-Garcia, who has never even been to Uganda, would face persecution and torture there. Yet, all it takes is saying that for this Obama judge and others like her to halt deportations, even types of deportations that have been litigated and authorized by the Supreme Court. Asylum rules are being twisted to the point of absurdity, and left-wing judges are more than happy to be the vehicle for that. Abrego-Garcia is charged with federal crimes, and he is an illegal immigrant with a lawful removal order. There is no basis for this judge to step in and keep him in the United States. And while I'm confident the Trump administration will eventually win this legal battle, it is a travesty that the judicial system is being abused like this in the interim. https://redstate.com/bonchie/2025/08/25/new-judge-blocks-abrego-garcia-deportation-to-uganda-as-the-game-being-played-becomes-obvious-n2193210#google_vignette
nedboy7 Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Liberal and conservative judges are starting to take what the administration is doing as a serious threat to our constitution and democracy. About time. Despite the rogue fascist idiots appointed by Trump to the SC.

B-Man Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Once Again, the Trump Administration Snags a Win From SCOTUS on USAID Funding Case by Susie Moore FTA: Instead, we got a ruling from the high court on the USAID funding case. (Which isn't to say we won't also get one on Cook's case — there's still time left in the day.) Once again, the court handed the Trump administration a win, this time by formally granting the administration's application for a stay of D.C. District Judge Amir Ali's September 3rd preliminary injunction, which blocked the Trump administration from withholding previously appropriated USAID funding. As noted in the court's order, this is not a final disposition of the case. It simply means that Judge Amir's September 3rd ruling (enjoining the administration from withholding the funding) is paused while the issue makes its way through the appellate process. Also, this ruling applies only to the funds that were subject to President Trump's August 28 rescission proposal, i.e., the $4 billion. However, it does signify a win for the administration in terms of its control over funding, and may also add a wrinkle to the tussle over the looming shutdown. https://redstate.com/smoosieq/2025/09/26/once-again-the-trump-administration-snags-a-win-from-scotus-on-usaid-funding-case-n2194440
