ChevyVanMiller Posted Saturday at 02:55 AM Author Posted Saturday at 02:55 AM Bandits beat San Diego 5-4 in the lowest scoring playoff game ever. It wasn’t pretty, but they move on to the next round. 3 Quote
Big Turk Posted Saturday at 02:43 PM Posted Saturday at 02:43 PM (edited) Man that game was stressful as hell last night! Lowest scoring game I can ever remember being at or even seeing a score line on... Bandits pulled off a 5-4 win even tho they were shut out the entire 2nd half. Super physical right from the get go, great goaltending from both sides... Vinc had 48 saves for the Bandits and was looking like Prime Dominik Hasek with several unbelievable saves, some in quick succession on rebound chances after the initial shot. Bandits scored their final goal on an amazing set piece play with 0.1 second left on the clock in the first half. Goal held up after a challenge and it turned out to be a critical goal as they would get stonewalled in the 2nd half. San Diego scored once and then failed on a 5-3 power play(in part because their guy took a penalty about 40 seconds in to make it a 4-3), then after the Bandits missed a glorious open net opportunity to seal the game, scored again with 1 second left on the clock to make it a 5-4 final. I don't think I have any nails left after that one...surprised I didn't start gnawing on my fingers 🤣🤣 But they survived and advance to the semifinals and a 3-game series instead of the single elimination game like last night, looking to go for a 3-Peat. Let's go Bandits!! Edited Saturday at 02:43 PM by Big Turk 2 2 Quote

BananaB Posted Monday at 03:00 AM Posted Monday at 03:00 AM Hoping they play Halifax in the finals. Give me a reason to head to Buffalo and get some wings. Normally get to a Bills game every year but couldn’t swing it last year. 1 Quote

This is going to be a scary set of games. CDB has been playing great and Vancouver hasn't lost a game since acquiring him. IMO, this series is really the championship game. I don't see the winner of Sask/Halifax beating either the Bandits or the Warriors in the finals. 1 Quote

I'm always trusting the team that has been to 4 straight NLL Finals and won 2 NLL Cups in a row over a team that hasn't until proven otherwise. Being in those high pressure situations before means something that cannot be gotten any other way. 1 Quote

The past two games with Hutch in net and Theede not forcing the ball at the net has been the best Halifax has played all season. Maybe in a couple years. Better goaltending and not as many negative plays. They keep doing that and they can beat anybody. Giving up fast break goals off bad shots or turnovers trying to get to the net has always been their downfall, they are finally starting to clean it up. 1 Quote
