B-Man Posted October 10 Posted October 10 The NYT is ticked they can no longer go wherever they want to in the Pentagon.

B-Man Posted October 22 Posted October 22 U.S. strikes eighth alleged drug-carrying boat, this time in the Pacific Ocean BY Associated Press International Oct. 22, 2025 WASHINGTON — The U.S. military launched its eighth strike against an alleged drug-carrying vessel, killing two people in the waters of the eastern Pacific Ocean, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Wednesday, marking an expansion of the Trump administration's campaign against drug trafficking in South America. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth says in a social media post the U.S. military conducted its eighth strike against an alleged drug vessel The Tuesday night strike occurred in the eastern Pacific Ocean The seven previous strikes all targeted vessels in the Caribbean Hegseth said Wednesday in a social media post the strike killed two people, bringing the death toll from all the attacks that began last month to at least 34 people The attack Tuesday night was a departure from the seven previous U.S. strikes that had targeted vessels in the Caribbean. Hegseth said on social media that the latest strike killed two people, bringing the death toll to at least 34 from attacks that began last month. The strike marks an expansion of the military's targeting area in South American waters as well as a shift to Colombia, where much of the cocaine from the world's largest producer is smuggled. Hegseth’s post also draws a direct comparison between the war on terrorism that the U.S. declared after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and the Trump administration's crackdown. “Just as Al Qaeda waged war on our homeland, these cartels are waging war on our border and our people,” Hegseth said, adding “there will be no refuge or forgiveness — only justice.” https://baynews9.com/fl/tampa/international/2025/10/22/hegseth-strike-boat-pacific
B-Man Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Good News From the Department of War The New York Times headlines: “Hegseth is purging military leaders and offering little explanation.” Subhed: “The moves to fire or sideline generals and admirals are without precedent in recent decades and have rattled the top brass.” I think the Times totally fails to understand that most of us will see this as good news. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has fired or sidelined at least two dozen generals and admirals over the past nine months in a series of ousters that could reshape the U.S. military for years to come. His actions, which are without precedent in recent decades, have come with little explanation. In many cases, they have run counter to the advice of top military leaders who fought alongside the officers in combat, senior military officials said. So “senior military officials,” no doubt fearing for their own jobs (or maybe being among those already let go) are leaking to the New York Times. What else is new? The Times hates soldiers, except for the ones that leak. Presumably what is going on here is that Secretary Hegseth is carrying out his mission of turning the U.S. military into a lean, war-winning machine. This means getting rid of the DEI nonsense that has dragged our armed forces down in recent years, and the generals and admirals who imposed it, probably to gain political promotion. It means getting rid of generals who achieved their rank, not through combat, but through political maneuvering. In short, it means that Secretary Hegseth is doing exactly what President Trump wants him to do, and what he pledged to do when he took over the Department of Defense War. https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2025/11/good-news-from-the-department-of-war.php
