Evans happy that Drew is Gone?

The Dish on ... BILLS WR LEE EVANS

One of the people most pleased about QB Drew Bledsoe being in Dallas might be Bills WR Lee Evans. It seemed Bledsoe didn't look Evans' way often last season and was locked into throwing to WR Eric Moulds, especially early in the season. The Bills expect Evans to be more productive this season with QB J.P. Losman unafraid to throw to the second-year player. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Evans overtake Moulds as the team's leading receiver.

 No surprises here. Would an experienced QB look for a proven star WR or an unproven rookie? Duh! Then, after the rookie proves himself, the QB looks to him more frequently. What intelligent QB wouldn't do the same. You can't fault DB for this one. Even a dyed in the wool Drew hater (and there are many on TSW) would have to agree with what he did. Right?

I wanted Bledsoe out of here as much as anyone, but I'm gonna credit him with helping Lee Evans. Lee had a good year last year and I think he really helped Drew out down the stretch with a lot of the plays he made. I'm sure Drew trusted Moulds more at the beginning of the year and rightfully so. This tidbit is just about pointless if you ask me.

Notice the words "might," "seemed," and "expect" and you'll realize the writer is making assumptions.

That doesn't make any sense. Lee outgained Eric in all categories! He should be worried DB is gone. Eric should be happy he's gone.

So noone wants to talk about how Drew locks onto Eric Moulds and never looks away from him on many plays?

It would be one thing to give Evans a glance and use him as a decoy to get it to Moulds until he was comfortable with the rookie....but the fact is that Bledsoe LOCKED ONTO MOULDS....and wouldn't check his other targets...and it happened a lot.....

If by "all categories" you mean TD's and YPR then you'd be right...but if you're going to include those pesky categories like receptions and yards you might want to reconsider this statement.

This "article" is worthless. The guy didn't TALK to Evans, he didn't infer anything from being around the team or anything like that. He's just making stuff up. What a great job to have...

You know, the person most excited about TBD might be R. Rich. He posts a lot, yet still maintains anonimity (who is he?). If he were to go to a different Bills board, he might not be able to maintain the friendships and still fly under the radar.

Besides, as was alluded to, Evans only had 200 yards less, and had 4 TDs more than Moulds. But yeah, DB never threw him the ball.

It's typical off-season filler. Evans didn't see the ball much early in the season but his catches did increase as the season wore on. That DB went to the veteran Moulds early instead of a rookie is hardly surprising. Any QB would have done that.

Drew may have locked onto Moulds early in the season, but they had a history and Evans was a rookie that Bledsoe had to grow confident of throwing to. By midseason, drew was slinging it pretty good to Evans and he had a heck of a rookie season. I am excited by the possibilities JP holds with his arm and especially his legs, but Drew was a part of this franchise when we really needed him and he did get Buffalo excited again. Lets just hope JP takes it to the next level.

All you have to do is look at the game @Miami in 2003. It was the turning point of his short time in Buffalo. We were dominating Miami, we just couldnt score. Why? Well besides the stupid Travis Henry halfback pass call, before that Drew Bledsoe looked at Moulds while standing in the pocket it seemed like 10 seconds, but it was more like 5. He had no pressure at all. Moulds was in tripple coverage. He kept starring at Moulds. Patting the ball about 4 times before finally throwing it into tripple coverage and resulting in an INT in the Endzone. Had he looked to the right, he might have seen Travis Henry clapping his hands with not a single Dolphin near him. If Bledsoe didnt lock onto Moulds, I believe we win that game. One score, and maybe things are different today.
