MetLife's turf is considered to be one of the worst according to NFL players. So many have suffered serious injuries playing on it. And yes, any WC game will be played on grass. They will probably put in a temporary field of real grass or similar. Soccer isn't as freaking stupid as the NFL...gotta play on grass.
