The NFL may want L.A.

Cross off Pasadena and Carson as to potential NFL stadium sites. That leaves only Anaheim and the Collesium. And you can bet Al Davis will ride in at the last minute and claim he owns the L.A. market.

Los Angeles does not act like a city itching for NFL football.

Hmm.. actually is there any city that used to have an NFL team in the last forty years that does not have one now outside of Los Angeles?

Yes, there are three: New York, Anaheim and Boston. :w00t:

Also, technically, Memphis, which had the Oilers for a year.

St. Louis lost the Cardinals and gained the Rams.

Baltimore lost the Colts and gained the Ravens.

Houston lost the Oilers and gained the Texans.

Oakland lost the Raiders and regained them.

Cleveland lost the Browns and regained them.

The Los Angeles Coliseum is too old for the NFL, with the current emphasis on premium seating and modern facilities. A new stadium costing a fortune is a given.

Besides, USC football averages over 85,000 a game. Who is going to give up watching an elite College team for NFL tickets ?

It's been 10 years since LA had a team and there's a legit reason for the absence. They don't support NFL football.

The thing with So- California football teams is that there are so many fun things to do on a Sunday, that the game has to be pretty darn good to attract a big crowd.

With so the NFL being pricey and stiff competition for time and entertainment dollars that the product has to be very good to win the time and money battle.

There are a lot of fun free things to do as well.
