He sent it back 3 times to be chopped finer and finer. After the last request, the staff put the salad into a blender and pulsed it a couple times and he finally accepted it. From that point on the staff served his salad the same way, assuming it was his preference, and jokingly referred to it as a lettuce smoothie. As he was leaving office they finally asked how he came to like his salad prepared that way and he told them that he didn't. He asked for it the first time because he had a sore throat and the lettuce irritated it and he didn't correct them after that. Weird story, but on topic I suppose.
