How do rompers for adults work? Or does everyone have to go to the bathroom Costanza style? So basically a romper is a short-sleeved, short-pants "union suit". Union suits have a long storied history dating back to late 19th century and well into the 20th w/country folk and working/labor people alike. Where did it go wrong cutting off sleeves and legs and not staying as underwear, long johns, Mormon "Magic Underwear", etc... The name: "Romper" means "play" and play is not synonymous with "work".
