Does anyone here play? Where can I find some local toury's in the southern teir that wont kill my bank account? I usually play for min amounts with the guys but I recently went to Salamanca and played at the casino and had a great time.(even though I lost). Does anyone know of any local get togethers and or tournys going on in the near future?

Thanks Steve

They play every once and awhile at the K of C and at the Masonic Hall.  Have pretty good tourneys.

Thanks I will stay on the lookout.

You can play online at any multitude of sites... I use partypoker, or pacific poker

It seems that no one is serious at Party Poker so i stopped using it.

The Senaca-Alleghany Casino Spreads a 2-4 limit game and a 100 max buy in NL game. They also have weekly tourneys. The dealers are slow but the games are soft. I would read some books before you plunk down 100 to play in a casino. Skalansky's Small Stakes Hold'em is a great book if you want to play limit.

You mean PartyRiver or Pacific River?

Online poker rewards bad play.

Dude, that is soooooooooooooooooo true. i've been playing at pokerroom for over a year now, and some of my worst beats have come from terrible players.

One example... 2/4 ring game... I get dealt wired bullets, raise to 4, 3 peeps call. flop comes up A 3 5 different suites. I bet, dude raises me, i re-raise, he caps. At this point I know something is up. I call his remaining bets, he shows 2 4 off-suite, for the wheel. I coulda ripped my f#%@!&g hair out. Guy wasn't even paying a small or big blind, and he stays into a pre-flop raise with deuce-four off-suite? Talk about crazy...

A year ago, BF in Indiana took me for $20 when he talked me into signing up for ParadisePoker.com. I have since improved my game. You can easily piss away your paycheck with these $50 and $100 games. I prefer the $1-$3 online tourneys myself.

Having said that, would anyone be interested in a Stadium Wall tourney at ParadisePoker.com? Say a $5 buy-in? (I know, what a pu$$y)

You lost 6000 at online poker? Ouch.

I put $50 on PP a year or so ago and am still going on it. Of course, considering the type of play, the bad beats, etc., I keep it to the low level ($20) tourney play.
