1st String O line immensely improved but NO DEPTH!

I like Ikard's intangibles but he's yet to prove a thing at the NFL level. To be honest, the same could be said of Miller.

It will be a 'hold your breath' first half of the season, IMO...

All I've really got to go off is their college tape. I liked both of them as prospects so, while I'm still on the fence with them both, I've got a more positive outlook until proven otherwise.

I'm just glad they've brought in a more specialised C. I think people lose sight that it's a specialist position, not easy to pick up as a pro.

Bills have to pray nobody on the offensive line gets hurt. Kujo and Cyril Richardson are totally useless. If they're lucky maybe the Bills can find an offensive lineman or two on the waiver wire. Kujo is definitely a bust. I can't believe Whaley took this guy in the 2nd round. WOW what a mistake that was. RIchardson doesn't look a whole lot better either. NO DEPTH on the O line.

The other area I see with absolutely no depth is corner. I think the Bills will eventually be forced to move Graham back to corner. Ron Brooks is a good special teams guy but he stinks at corner. He couldn't cover me. I have a feeling McLovin will be out most of the year so you can't count on him. Injury was a lot worse than the Bills thought.

Relax. We are in a better situation than last year. The Colts' starters except for one guy are apparently all looking like backups. And they're being touted as potentially having one of the best offenses ever this year. I doubt it, as the guys in the trenches are way more important than a lot of people seem to realize.

Agree 100%. I'm glad Urbik showed he couldn't handle the snapping in time for Whaley to address the roster. Having a competent center is incredibly important with two young QBs and two new guards.

The praise Jimbo gave Kent Hull all during the glory years was absolutely true...

This is a very good post and everyones feedback is good. Cyrus has been playing great and this kid is a second year player. GIVE HIM A CHANCE! One of the top rated linemen by NFLpro and ESPN this preseason. Watch and see! He will be a great one!

Funny hearing how bad the depth is considering 1 of last years starters is now a backup, and a backup/starter is now on the practice squad.

Sure sounds like the depth is much improved over last year, but I guess some folks are never satisfied.

Urbik (journeyman), Kujo (unknown) and Ikard (unknown). "Much improved" is a leap of faith, just like Richardson (unknown), Williams (bad back, FA bust) and Hairston (coming off a mystery illness) were the year before...

Wow. I'm not sure if this is a serious post or not but it's sure full of conviction. Kujo "definitely a bust?" Hmm, not so sure about that. I sincerely hope you weren't one of the guys saying "we can't have an opinion on EJ yet, it's still way too early." So he couldn't beat out Henderson, OK. You do realize that Henderson was/is a FIRST ROUND talent who fell because of off the field issues, right? And even if he is a bust, how in God's name can you question the pick. It was a no-brainer pick at the time. In fact, it was the kind of obvious pick that past regimes passed on and made cutesy picks instead (Gronkowski/Troup, Graham/Wilson). In the last few years, we have taken the layup pick (Gilmore, Glenn, Woods and Kujo) and the Bills are better off for it. You're aware that not every pick works out, right? Mike Williams was the right pick at 4. Didn't work out. Ryan Leaf was the right pick at 2. Donte Whitner was a stretch at 8. Either way you need to relax man. The Bills are gonna be good this year.

I'm referring to the backup situation...

I think we have to be a little concerned (but not worried) about the O-line, if more than one or two starters go down. Is that par for the course for most teams? Yes, I think so. But the Bills situation may be a bit more dire, in backup skill level. Perhaps TT makes that situation a bit more palatable, though, as he could help disguise the weakness. But if he becomes a victim of that weakness, then is it EJ behind a bad line again? That's one of my biggest concerns.
