Yes it was my daughter and son in law who thru-hiked the entire trail in 2013. The planning for this adventure is extensive. And whatever $$ amount you plan to spend. factor in another 30%. The Appalachian Trail Conservancy has redesigned their web site. www.appalachiantrail.org. 2016 will be crowded due to the movie "A Walk In the Woods" practice hiking with a 25 pound pack.
