This probably allows us to either sign one more player or extend a Clements or McGee over the $2 Million in savings reported earlier. In addition this puts us squarely in the game to resign Jennings and/or Williams and address some other needs (LG/K/TE/coverage LB-for third down D--which I think needs to be addressed) Eric says he tells friends "Buffalo is the most beautiful city in the summer time." He gets the same amount of money as under the old contract--but the Bills get an extra year and significantly reduced cap hit....good for everyone. The $2 million amortization is from his original $12 million signing bonus he got in 2001. The Pro Bowl counts on the cap but he would need to make next yrs PB to get that $175,000. The new deal maintained "present value" because, if the Buffalo News numbers are correct , then he will get $6.5 million in actual money in 2005. Again, we're lucky. before moulds signed his 6 year deal, I remember he said he talked to some other player who left his original team and he told him if he liked Buffalo to stay there cause going to a new team can suck.
