My 10 cents on the game.....

How do you go for it in the first at 0-0 but not in the 4th down 24-10?

I know where they were on the field but it was 4th n 2 not 4th and long

I'm not one to complain about the refs but that was an amazingly one sided officiated game

I had no problem with either of those 4th down calls. Each 4th down call has 10 elements to consider. I think both were the right calls.

I disagree with several of your points, but not all.

Orton is a gamer? What the hell are you watching?

Does that include the bit where he slid to safety for a loss of 2 yards rather than get a first down?

He brought them back to within a successful onside kick of tying the game despite all that went wrong earlier. THAT'S what I'm referring to, overcoming things like that to give your team a chance at the end.

I don't question using Gay for the onside. Geez, he is on the roster as a kickoff specialist. You think he practices onside kicks? If not, what does he do all day?

What does Carpenter do all day?

I assume that in practice Gay kicked better insides. That's the only explanation. But obviously they both practice them.

Disappointed but not surprised :(

1) Another respectable defensive performance. No TD passes for Peyton. Streak ended!!!

2) As usual, those F/N penalties, and Jerry Hughes is good for one asinine penalty per game

3) I'd have went with the veteran Carpenter for the onside kick

4) QB or OC, which one is holding the offense back the most?

5) Nice to see Goodwin back on the field. Too bad Orton couldn't connect with him deep.

6) Bad calls from officials nothing new. Good teams will usually overcome those.

7) Despite their shortcomings, this team has no quit in them. I like that.

8) Give Orton credit. He may not be that good, but he's a gamer. Unfortunately, that's not enough.

9) I ain't mad at em. Didn't expect them to upset the Broncos, and they didn't get blown out the building

10) Believe it or not, I like our chances for an upset over the Packers.

4) i think it's a bit of both.. we'd have to analyse an all-22 to understand why Orton - like EJ, before him - won't pull the trigger on downfield throws when the game is young.

8) it's ok not to be overly critical of Orton. he competes to the best of his ability, but his play is uninspiring. there were many Bills fighting for an extra yard today. Kyle wasn't among them.

Orton is one of the worst on the run, and he wouldn't get an extra yard even if he did fight for it.

It's clear to me we can win against mediocre and below teams with Orton and for some that's exciting enough. But we can't contend with teams that have a decent coaching staff. Kyle is just very limited and can't be asked or expected to carry a team.

RE #6. IT's one thing to have bad calls, but when they happen on key plays constantly, that makes it difficult to beat a good team. They never showed the replays for the INT returns, so I don't know how legit those were, but the Robey penalty was bogus. Don't know if Hughes would've been called for a penalty if they didn't throw a flag on the Gilmore play, but don't think they showed that replay either.

It is like they must accept three soul crushing calls every game .. No excuse .. If they capitalized on picks with points or finished any drive or went for it on fourth and two ...

But yes .. It seems that on big games they have two opponents ..unfortunately undeniable..the sooner they accept this as fact and prepare for the daily .. "Knife in the back and more or the same .. "

It is a shame that this seems so consistent

You absolutely go for it on the road down two touchdowns vs Manning on 4th and short distance with under 6 mins to go

It doesn't make any sense to go for one and not the other...NONE

I disagree. The way the defense was playing at that point compared to the offense that move made sense.

If the offense didn't get it, they basically gave the Broncos a FG and made it a 3 score game. Punt, play D keep it two score

Every single call is independent of all other calls unless there are more than two similar calls where you tried it before and couldn't run. That wasn't at all the case.
