BobbyC81 Posted May 5, 2014 Share Posted May 5, 2014 I always like to look at the rest of the college team, when thinking about the Bills drafting a player whose position requires co-ordination with or depends upon another position on the team. Punters and kickers you can evaluate on the basis of their success and the environment they kicked in. With a safety or quarterback, the play of the supporting cast is important. A defensive tackle lined up next to a top 10pick defensive end is not going to get a lot of double coverage and will look better. And that's how the Bills were fooled (fools?) on John McCargo. Should he have a better year than the nothing Manuel showed us, HE gets next year to see if he can yet improve on a promising rookie campaign. But, yes, keep spending picks on QB's.
