[closed]What about LB coach?

Recommended Posts

Repeat: ANY coach can interview for a HC opening. ANY. It matters not that they're under contract. All other openings have to be filled by coaches not under contract or the interested team has to get permission from the team that owns the coach's contract to talk with him.

Pettine was under contract also, correct? Teams usually do not get in the way of promotions. Bad for business.

And yet the deadline for Buffalo to decide is today. If they weren't concerned/thinking of keeping him, then they would have given permission at once. Unless you think that the Bills are simply using all of the clock to make a point.

YOU will NOT be getting ANY calls.

Not sure what to think. They obviously like O'Neil but is it good to deny an assistant a promotion? Wouldn't O'Neil be pissed if he can't leave if he wants to? Tough call....

The way I see it, when you take a contract and agree to a job, the understanding is that you will complete that contract. If, in the graciousness of the employer, you are allowed to seek employment elsewhere, that's magnanimous on the part of the employer, if not then the employer is merely holding you to the original agreement....no harm there. If you want to work somewhere else and take a promotion, keep working hard and do an incredible job and all the more you will see doors open for you in the future. I don't think its that difficult. As men, we make decisions that impact our future with some uncertainty and it is up to us to see our obligations through. Upon completion if we've done well, there is usually a reward waiting at the end. O'Neil just needs to accept his obligations and go to work, if the BILLS deny his request, and demonstrate how valuable he is...because in the end, no one knows how Schwartz will do either. I HOPE Schwartz proves to be a Defensive genius, but if he doesn't..do you really think O'Neil would deny a chance at a DC position with the BILLS in the future if it came to that? And if he keeps working hard and shows his talent and ability, then the opportunity may just come sooner, rather than later. JMO...
