Bang us harder, please! We love Mitt, we love Mitt!

...

Did you... Did you even bother to read your own article?

"In a major win, Rand Paul nabbed a prime-time convention speaking slot on Monday night."

"Considering that only 11 of the 112 platform committee members supported Paul, the Romney forces allowed a disproportionate influence of the Paulites on the draft platform, which was approved this week."

"The document ... calls for auditing the Federal Reserve"

"It ... supports a presidential commission to study metallic basing of the currency"

"The Paul campaign said it got Internet freedom language adopted that is nearly verbatim to an Internet freedom manifesto published by the pro-Paul Campaign for Liberty"

"...the platform has a whole section about the U.S. Constitution"

"...won on language opposing the use of domestic drones"

"won on ... protecting private property from being seized unfairly by government."

"The foreign policy section ... could have been decidedly more hawkish without them there"

Do you support going back to a metallic currency?

Mr. Paul, in an interview, said convention planners had offered him an opportunity to speak under two conditions: that he deliver remarks vetted by the Romney campaign, and that he give a full-fledged endorsement of Mr. Romney. He declined.

"It wouldn't be my speech," Mr. Paul said. "That would undo everything I've done in the last 30 years. I don't fully endorse him for president."

Paul supports will be hearded to the polls and totally support Big Government Romney anyway. Who they think they fooling?

I rarely respond to you because you are either a blithering idiot, a blind zealot, or a troll, but I'm bored, so !@#$ it.

What is your point? That it is somehow absurd or hypocritical for Paul supporters, who want small government, to support Mitt Romney, who supports a far bigger government than they prefer, when the alternative is Obama who, by his own admission wants even bigger government than Romney does? Is that really your point, or was there something not retarded you were getting at?

Or maybe there will be a floor fight!! Will the Revolution be televised?

New GOP rules would bind delegates to the outcome of presidential primaries, allowing candidates to choose which delegates would represent them at future national conventions. Currently, state parties choose national delegates, usually at state conventions.

Funny, even the GOP is against states rights now, lol

Political parties are private entities, not government bodies. This has absolutely nothing to do with states rights.

Paul being on his way out decided wisely that even though they get knocked around, the lasting legacy of his movement has a better chance succeeding if it infiltrates rather than if it breaks off. Nothing to be ashamed about there, politics are politics.

Back of the bus Waldo!

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0812/80168.html

"The Republican National Convention seating chart, obtained by POLITICO Sunday, shows the delegations from Nevada, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota and Oklahoma all located on the outer fringe of the convention floor. Each are states with significant Paul followings.

The delegation for the Northern Mariana Islands, on the other hand, is right in front behind the gang from Michigan, birth state of Republican nominee Mitt Romney. Other groups with pretty good seats include those from the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and American Samoa. None has electoral votes that can impact the outcome of the election."

The Northern Mariana Islands???

Like I said, the Republican Party is a private entity, and will handle these matters internally. What Ron Paul has done is force a conversation that will ultimately either destroy the party and force something new to rise from the ashes, which would be a victory for America; or force a major change in American politics, which would be a victory for America. Looking at the way things developed in the platform construction phase, I'm betting big dollars on the latter. This individual convention doesn't matter; it's what happens going forward that will decide the course of American history.

Those island delegations deserve those seats. After all Nancy Pelosi made sure that they weren't allowed even the minimum wage. I wonder if it had anything to do with her family's investments in Charlie the Tuna?

Republican infighting.

Ron Paul delegates cause ruckus on convention floor (AP)

He might not be the Republican nominee, but Ron Paul certainly has loyal delegates. And they're here to make their voices heard—literally. The boisterous delegates caused somewhat of an altercation on the convention floor this Tuesday evening, a night that should belong to Mitt Romney.

Whenever a state that had Paul delegates announced its vote, the counter on stage tallied only the delegates for Romney, a standard practice under the convention rules. Hundreds of Paul delegates struck back by shouting the number of Paul votes in unison from the floor and the rafters, a practice that irked Romney supporters.

RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT!!!

Rules fight sparks drama at RNC - (CNN)

Tampa, Florida – The Republican National Convention adopted two controversial rules on Tuesday. But a fight over their adoption threw a wrench in the convention's carefully scripted events: pitting the likes of Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann and grassroots activists on one side with Mitt Romney's campaign and establishment Republicans on the other.

The days-long fight reached climax just hours after the Tuesday RNC session began, with supporters of the rules cheering their adoption and opponents booing against them. Moments before, some delegates even laid out angry – yet unsubstantiated – claims of meddling to keep some delegates away from a committee vote.

Though the voices "for" and "against" sounded about the same, Boehner declared: "The ayes have it."

more from the AP feed - could this be why?

Mitt Romney accepts the Republican nomination for president this week with the lowest personal popularity of any major-party nominee in polls dating to Ronald Reagan's presidency, a difficulty for Romney that's persisted throughout this election cycle.

Romney's favorability rating is the lowest of any major-party nominee at roughly the time of his convention in available data back to 1984; indeed he's the first, at this stage of the campaign, to be rated more unfavorably than favorably by a significant margin.
