Giants Fans Worst in NFL

Here is the Catch22 of this whole texting thing at the stadiums now. Any idiot with a phone and not to hammered to use it has the ability to screw anyone in the stands by texting security and having them removed.

If you are sitting next to a big fat guy/girl and they are infringing on your space, you can text anything to security about them and if you do it enough, you can have them removed and have more space for yourself.

The whole texting security thing is wrong and should be banned. If you have an issue, go get security, have them see with their own eyes and let a judgement be made from that. Otherwise, it's all heresay and probably more often then not, an innocent person gets the short end of the stick.

The problem isn't texting. The problem is security is generally populated by idiots with a complex. It doesn't take much to spend 5 minutes observing whether there is an actual problem before taking action. Instead, they charge in there and overreact because most of them are wannabees and this is their only chance to exert power over others.

It's official, now I have been to many away games to see our Bills play. For the longest time I felt the jets fans were the worst but after today I'm sold. Giants fans hands down the biggest group of lame babies! My bro and I were the only bills fans in our section and when buffalo took the lead we were cheering. Few mins go by and security comes over and warms us to be respectful and stated we needed to stay seated! A little while later we get told that some "concerned fans" text security saying we had threatened them..mind you we were at the game with some friends who were season ticket holders so we were on our best behavior out of respect for them. I spoke to security and told them nothing of the sort had occured and several people near us did the same. When buffalo tied it up as expected we were again told to "knock it off" again unprovoked someone in the stands kept texting security getting us in trouble. then with 1:20 on the clock security came up to us and told us we had to leave and escorted us out of the stands! I will never go back to Jersey to ever see another game we missed the end of the game and mam I so wish I did something to deserve it!!! Scumbags! It's nothing but The Ralph for me from now on!

Tens of thousands of dollars for PSLs, god knows how much for the seats themselves, whaddaya expect? You got kicked out of North Jersey's most expensive wine and cheese reception. That's not something to be ashamed of. Dare I say, be proud.

This Too.

Security is definitely a problem. They are basically mostly mall cops at football games. There are some that might actually be undercover police but for the most part, they are no more than some punk with an attitute wearing a flourescent windbreaker.

Couple that with giving any idiot with a phone the ability to screw with someone at a football game and you have some very serious issues with innocent people getting treated unfairly.

This. Had to deal with them all the time growing up in Albany. It's the same for yankees and rangers too.

I consider myself a Yankee fan even though I don't care much for baseball in the grand scheme of things (yankee family, so i just adopted the team my parents chose) and I could not agree with you more. I am usually embarrassed to admit I am a Yankee fan because of the way most of them act. On the other hand I wear my Bills colors with pride all the time. It really says something about how obnoxious the fans can be when I am more proud to be a fan of a franchise with no success over the past decade than I am to be a fan of one with 27 world championships. Bleh!

Giants fans really are the worst. I was with a few watching the game on sunday and we were all getting along well, then suddenly in the last two minutes when the game slipped away from the Bills they started with the trash talk like that had been up by 40 the whole game. My response was "Man you guys sure were quiet up until the 2 minute warning."

a 3 point win that Fitzpatrick handed them with an INT and you would think these idiots just watched their team demolish someone. Sad sad sad.

I was in the 300 endzone section wit a buudy of mine. All in all it was alright wit the fans, but they can't seem to let the past go. Every five freakin mintues I keep on hearing "wide right". So after a while I just responded, "oh, u got a 'wide wife'? I feel bad for u." I guess it didn't help I had my thurman wit a bills hardhat on. Lol. I almost knocked a few of them out, but state police don't play, so I kept a cool head.

They got nothing on Vikings Fans. Back in 02, the Bills came to Minneapolis and I got tickets for my family with the rest of the MN Bills backers. All through the game, the Vikequeen fan's threw full plastic beer bottles at us, and actually hit my daughter in the back of the head, which led to a concussion.

Their security carted off two Bills fan's from Buffalo who flew out for the game. The rest of us stood up and told security it wasn't them, but the A-holes up behind us. Security did nothing and ended up ejecting four guys that were completely innocent.

I sent a letter to the Vikings management demanding an apology and reported my daughter's concussion from the assault. They never responded.

I gotta tell you, that is better than jets fans. I live in Jersey and have been to see the Bills play both teams and the jets fans are far worse. I have been to the Bills-jets games the last two years and two years ago, a Bills fan and his girlfriend were approached by jets fans who threatened them if they cheered again - believe me, their cheering was not out of bounds - AT ALL - very subdued. By the way, these were not the cheap seats - we're talking about 35-40 yard line and about 20 or so rows from the field. It has gotten to the point where I won't wear my gear anymore because of the unprovoked threats and taunts.

I was at the game also, but didn't have any problems. It was my first time being away from the Ralph for a regular season game and expected some ragging from giants fans, but didn't really receive any. I was very surprised at the difference in atmosphere compared to The Ralph. When the Giants were on defense and the bills were on offense, the stadium was very quiet unless it came down to 3rd or 4th down. Giants fans also seemed to stay seated during those situations instead of standing.

It was a good experience and a great place to watch a game, but in the end I was very surprised by the lack of fan enthusiasm in the stadium.

As far as security bothering the guy who wrote the post, my guess is he's not telling the whole story. There was probably one to many beers involved, giving him and his buddies some extra courage to be loud and obnoxious. I'm sure there was some requests from the fans behind them to sit down so that their 8 year old kid could see the game, which was ignored. And at least 1 or 2 of those $10 beers that they bought were spilled onto the people in the row in front of them. Basically the same kind of things that happen from the 1 or 2% that ruin the game experiences for regular diehard bills fans at The Ralph.

Welcome to the Police State, formerly known as the Land of the Free, where you were innocent until proven guilty. Now, the government (in all its forms) makes up the rules as they go along. You should have applied for a "waiver", I hear they give those out like candy on Halloween these days.

My girl dragged me up to New Brunswick, NJ, where she had some belly-dance show to do. I, of course, missed the show so I could go to a local sports bar and watch the game. The people there were all giants fans and a few looked at me when I walked in and gave a playful shout: "awww, look at this guy!" But all in all it was a great experience. The Giants fan next to me was also a Gators fan, and he was GUSHING about David Nelson. He was a bigger fan of Nelson than he was of the Giants I swear. It was a good time though- great conversations.

Sucks man, sorry to hear that.

Both my son and wife went to that game and they both stated the exact opposite of what you are saying about the Giants fans, they said the fans treated them both very well. They both loved the stadium with the escalators and said they had a great time.

. From talking to my son who goes to the Jets games also, the worst fans by far are the Jets fans no question.

I agree with you that security shouldn't throw someone out just because a complaint is made, but what's the difference how security receives that complaint? It's no less hearsay if I go get a security guard than if I text one.

I would also venture that it is definately not the case that more often than not an "innocent person gets the short end of the stick."

I went to the Giants game too...wore a Bills sweatshirt...saw lots of Bills fans. I had, possibly, the best seats I have ever had for a game, and I have been to quite a few...48 yard line, behind the Bills bench, 23 rows up...I had an awesome time. I took the NJ Transit to the game, from Penn Station. I must say, as a whole, I thought Giants fans were pretty cool. I am not one who is going to let a stupid comment escalate, particularly if someone is telling me my team sucks...I did see one, old man, and his wife, escorted out of the stadium...they were dressed in Giants gear...also know, there was one fight behind us, but couldn't make out if Bills fans were involved.

My seat was in front of where Phil Simms and Jim Nantz were sitting...Giants fans kept turning toward him, to salute. One idiot Bills fan, turned and gave him the finger, and caught some verbal guff for it...can't imagine anything less happening at the Ralph, if it was Jimbo, or, say, even Joe Ferguson. It was kind of disrespectful...and I am no big Simms fan. It was funny, when the Giants had that TD overturned, there was some confusion. At the stadium, it looked like a TD, and even with the replay, it looked like a TD. As the refs were mulling it over, and all the Giants fans were sure it would go in their favor, you hear someone yell "Phil says no!"...I turned around, and Simms, before the refs made any announcement, was gesturing that it was not a catch...he was right. When I saw the replay at home, it looked different than at the game.

All in all, I had a great time, except the final score...and I thought Giants fans (the real fans) were not all that different than fans of any other team. Honestly, I have seen more boorish behavior towards visiting fans, at the Ralph, than I have most anywhere else.

One thing about New York fans, in general, though...there is a "hipness" factor to going to any sporting event in New York (New Jersey?), so there are always folks there that don't know the first thing about the game, the team, etc...sat next to two nice looking ladies, both decked out in NY Giants ladies gear (likely purchased that day) who paid almost no attention to the game, except when all the Giants fans cheered...they got up and down so many times, they went, in my book, from being hot, to just annoying...I am sure this goes on in places like LA, Chicago, etc... these are the kinds of people most likely to call security.

I too was at the game and funny thing is we were probably just a few feet apart. I was in the box right next to the broadcast booth. On the inside the partition was glass so I could see Simms and Nance by just turning to my right. MetLife is not much to look at from the outside. My Giants fan friend told me it cost 1.5Bn to build, more than Dallas which is state of the art. Says its because of the mob still controlling construction in NYC. On the inside though, as you will have noticed, the sightlines are terrific. Not a bad seat in the house.

I tailgated a couple of hours before the game. Section K. I agree Giants fans are cool. They are full of their team for sure, but thats just criticizing them for being fans.

I was at the game also. I can say that this was my first trip away from The Ralph and surprisingly not one Giants made a negative comment to me all day. I was ready to take some harassment but I got nothing. I do have to say there is nowhere like The Ralph as the tailgating scene was weak and timid to say the least!

i was at the game n sat in 335 n had a very similar exp...overall it was great n most giants fans were kewl n i went with two giants fans.............a heavy set gurl n a wimp of a boyfriend kept jawing back n forth with a bills fan in the row in front of me.................the whole section kept wondering why the gurl was so angry......late into the 4th the gurls boyfriend turns around n starts with me.....i never swore n i never called her names like some others were......finally when the giants made a play he turned to me n started mouthing off n i was like come up here n get some...like ten mins later my uncle tells me to chill cause two security guards are right at the end of our row......they waited for like 5 mins and split.......when the game ended the same guy that was in my face apologized n said he was a little crazy from the game......overall most fans were kewl....a few guys teased ryan n called out harvard when he threw interceptions, but when he made plays i called out harvard and the giants fans chuckled......i did remind that guy that we were in jersey n not in new york!!!!!! go bills!!!

im calling bs on the op

if you were sitting with seasons ticket fans and acting appropriately they would have backed you up. seasons tix holders in any stadium tend to be much more mature than single seat dufuses, especially true for giants fans who have been around and seen it all

im pretty sure you were doing more than respectful cheering if you got kicked out of that section

Since I love football, I secured Giants season tix 20 plus years ago when I moved to Jersey. While there are always jerks never had a problem, sorry there was one a@#$whole that acted like a real jerk. All in all Giant fans love their team and show it. I guess that is New York. Generally its a bit of give and take. Went with my family Sunday wearing my Bills stuff, did not have one problem. Sorry dude, what that guy did sucks
