Liberal Icon John Lennon was a closet Republican

Recommended Posts

I'm no Beatle aficionado by any stretch, as is evidenced by the fact that I believe the very best Beatles music can be found on side two of Abbey Road, but I was somehow under the impression from some college stoner breakfast of champions gathering that the Beatles were referencing Reagan when they sang "Here come ol' flat top..." in "Come Together." A little Google search suggests nothing of the sort.

Still, for what it's worth, Abbey Road side two never, ever, gets old. I've had more than my fair share of odd looks from people in adjacent cars watching me at a red light, banging on the dashboard, singing at the top of my lungs, "Ooooh. Look out. She came in through the bathroom window!"

What's truly amazing are these ridiculously hypocritical rock and roll liberals like Bono, Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi who literally sing the praises of Obama's "share the wealth" socialist agenda yet then go and dodge their taxes by either moving headquarters or calling themselves "farmers" to avoid huge property tax bills.

Wow, that's some evidence. Some guy who wants to make a buck says John had some conversations with him 32 years ago and suddenly Lennon is a Republican?

And even if the conversations were true, being critical of Carter and also anti-commie doesn't make you a Republican.

Truly. Can't believe he forgot to include KISS and The Rolling Stones.

They don't involve themselves politically, and if they did they probably wouldn't become hypocritical supporters of Obama's "share the wealth" agenda.

Are you kidding? Do you know how many hundreds of millions Ace Frehley laundered by claiming "farming" as his profession?

Yup, but it was a Beatles song

No ****, really? I thought it was Paul Anka.

Ok, then I'll just hijack this thread

Conservative judge rules Obama/Romney's government mandated buying of health care is Constitutional :worthy:

"No one is inactive when deciding how to pay for health care," wrote Judge Jeffrey Sutton -- a conservative legal star, who clerked for Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, and was appointed by President George W. Bush -- in his concurring opinion.

Senior Judge Boyce Martin -- a Carter appointee -- went further still in his opinion. Though he affirmed the view that health care is a unique realm where no person is "inactive," he also argued that, even if that weren't the case, the Constitution places no limits on Congress regulating inactivity.

"[T]he Constitution imposes no categorical bar on regulating inactivity," Martin wrote.

Doesn't matter a damn bit until the Supreme Court rules.

Sorry, I don't get the joke.

That's because you're the joke. I'm mocking you, !@#$tard.
