17 total yards for the Browns...is that a record?

157094

Nope - the record was -7 back in 1979. The Raiders were involved, not sure if their defense did it or if their O only got -7...

The -12 yards passing is pretty cool though :(

What a difference a year makes!

Last year's D was a fraud, never making any plays when it counted.

This year's D is incredible, what a treat to watch!

Mad props to

TKO

Fletcher

Adams

Milloy

Clements

Gray

and for making the O respectable again & keeping these guys off the field,

MM

McNally

and especially WILLIS!!!

Uhmmm????

Ever heard the phrase, "The best defense is a good offense"?.

Yeah, now that our offense can hold onto the ball longer our defense doesnt have to spend all day on the field. Its the same defense as last year with two major differences...

-They spend less time on the field

-Other teams are spending more behind in the score and have to pass more instead of run..... and yes when the other team calls more passing plays that gives our team more chances to get sacks/ints.

Still though...17 yards?  Thats dominant.

157108

It was 2 yards with 2 minutes left.

So Cleveland got 88% of their yards in the last two minutes when the Bills had all their scrubs in and the game was basically over.

Unbelievable.

how many first downs did they get?? (not including penalty fist downs)

sam adams is a beast this year. last year he was only good in maybe 5 games. this years hes dominating the line. he makes P. Williams look slow and unproductive.

mad props to adams, and fletcher for going over 100+ tackles for 5 strait years.

NFL.com says 2 by rushing, 3 by passing, and 1 by penalty, but I swear I remember at least 2 by penalty

(Posey lined up in neutral zone,  and I thought the Schoebel offsides, but actually that lead to a TD, not a first down)

Around 1979 the Raiders defense was composed of:

The Stork

The Tooz

The Assassin

Lester Hayes

Phil Villiapiano

Pat Toomay

Monte Johnson

Rod Martin

Willie Brown

Otis Sistrunk

and on and on and on.....

Their offense boasted:

The Snake

The Ghost

Cliff Branch

Art Shell

Gene Upshaw

Fred Bilitnekoff

Mark Van Eeghan

Dave Dalby

and on and on and on.....

Something tells me their D was more likely to hold somebody to -7 than their O was to lay an egg like that ;-)

Same defense last year other than 2 things and 2 things only:

-A large increase in playmaking ability in the secondary.

-As stated, having an actual offense getting the lead in games.

I think TKO, Fletcher, Adams, & Milloy have raised their games up several notches over last year's effort. Kelsay has also been a major upgrade. I do love seeing playmakers in the secondary. <_<

Again the leads allow those players to show their true colors. I agree on Kelsay, I forgot to mention him...
