What position on the field is less physically exerting than the damn QB spot?? The kicker isn't a real player, so that doesn't count. Holy crap, if those 300lb lineman can block their asses off and still keep moving down the field for the subsequent snaps, then McNabb sure as hell ought to be able to, as well. But to see him benched in favor of Rex Grossman when the game is on the line speaks volumes about Shannan's confidence in this guy. All of these things could be true, at once. According to Mort, Shanahan, and his son, have been unhappy with Donovan's practice effort, and had discussed benching him after the huge win over the Eagles in week 4.
