Lack of players are a result of the decisions ralph has made, I mean maybin over orakpo...come on! HOLY !@#$! The O line was the main priority in last years and they waited until the 5th round to address it? C'mon guys, any tackle taken in rounds one thru 5 would have been better then Cornell Green at RT. Ok this a scary thought.... that RW stated the Bills are going into next years draft with a QB as the top priority Will they wait till round 5 to address the QB position this year like they did with the tackle position last year? The team needs lacks talent on the field. So now it will take two words P & P =pain and patience... I say the real two words are B & S= bull **** ! The same problem has happened again that happened with Jauron, its the talent lacking on the sidelines and in the front office! A Perfect example are the Washington Redskins who finished last season with a worse record then the Bills, they fired the GM and HC, they cleaned house on the coaching staff just like the Bills Redskins: Hired new GM Bruce AllenHired Mike Shanahan as HC, he hires a new OC with NFL experience away from the Texans to run his offense. he hires Jim Haslett an ex HC to be his new DC. The draft a LT with the #1 pick and trade for all pro RT Jammal Brown from the Saints for a 3rd pick. Traded for QB Donovan McNabb got rid of Jason Campbell in a trade to the Raiders. Jeez, this HC didn't need to waste an entire off season to evaluate his QB Redskins record 3-2 and ready to vie for a playoff spot THIS YEAR! Buffalo Bills: Promote Buddy Nix to GM, Nix hires Chan Gailey as HC. Gailey hires a bunch of college assistants for his staff. doesn't re-sign TO and cuts Josh Reed 2 starting receivers. Waits till 2 games into the season to cut his starting QB. Buddy Nix announces he is going to sleep as free agency opens, when he wakes up he brings in RT Cornell Green for 3 mil a year. Drafts a RB with the 1st pick because Chan Gailey stated that a good RB will make the line block better. BOTTOM LINE: Buddy Nix is a RW promotion from within the org, he hired the guy so now he will stand behind him. Just the same way Buddy Nix is standing behind his decision on Cornell Green. Ralph is 100% responsible for the lack of accountability by those who are evaluating and drafting the players that is at the root of this problem. Their draft picks fail at an amazing rate and the talent evaluators remain in their jobs. Part of it may be the "team" approach to drafting they have used in the past. There is no one who is ultimately responsible for drafting a player like Maybin - instead it is "collective failure". Anything Ralph says is meaningless until we see the needed changes in this organization in the scouting/ player evaluation department. The Kelsay 4 yr deal is the latest sign that the front office wisdom hasn't improved yet. I am very cautiously hopeful that over time, Nix & Gailey can fix this mess. This staff went into last years draft with a priority on rebuilding the O line, all they did was take a 5th rounder and sign a worthless PoS for RT in free agency. I have no doubt in my mind they will fail and be fired in 3 years. The only saving factor for them is that this staff will select a QB with the #1 next year.... fans will come in droves to see the new QB...thinking he will be the next Jim kelly. BUFFALOTONE Posted October 12, 2010 Share Posted October 12, 2010 it is sad. and it's also sad that a person who got into the AFL because he was a fan of football, and wound up making something of it to the point where he is enshrined in Canton, can't make this thing work. i've written it once and i'll write it again, there are people here who mistake Mr. Wilson for someone who doesn't care. i truly believe he does. and what's sad is that he's provided 51 years of entertainment in Buffalo and gets rightly and wrongly criticized for it to the point where there are people who openly and sadly and insensitively root for his demise. last i checked, the sun did go up this morning, and my car was still damaged from the yahoo, who sideswiped it and took off this past weekend. to me, that's a big worry and perhaps more disturbing than maybe a football team getting off to an 0-5 start. but then again, i'm not a fan. and given some of the ongoing posts on this board in regards to Mr. Wilson's health, i'd rather maintain my objectivity than sink into the mud of some people here. but of course, this will be misconstrued as a post blindly favoring Mr. Wilson and the job he's done, with some responding about Polian this and Jauron that. there have been screwups. major screwups, which is why this team is where it is. He gives, what I believe is a huge insult to the fans, a diatribe about the team rebuilding for the next three years. Guess what happens after that?! The lease on the stadium is up! I would LOVE for him to address this issue. Once he does that (In this present economy, I don't want five year old quotes from Ralph), I will respect him. Player acquisitions thru various mean are possible, a team looks attractive to FA's when its apparent that the FO has a glue and direction. Some keep knocking Buffalo as not a good destination for FA but rem that a good sell job,vision and w/money would make the difference, funny how Buffalo didn't have a problem with FA's when they were in there hay-day (and I know they didn't need as many but the ones that were targeted were signed). But my 3 questions remain... i have difficulty holding a serious discussion with someone who comes across with a belligerent tone and with an over-inflated self-proclaimed handle such as "internet tough guy," who appears hellbent on living up to such a reputation, which leads me to believe he/she might well be over-compensating for something lacking in other areas. why i'm required to take heat, i don't know. but i refuse to be bullied by a "tough guy." JW, I'd like to hear what you think about those comments in relation to the uncertainty about the franchise's future in Buffalo. kj found the comment curious, myself. i've written here or maybe thought that there's a less likelihood that the franchise's leaving than previously thought. everyone loves to clamour about franchise QBs byt we need franchise LBs and OT as u pointed out. fix the lines and the LB corp than go for the luxury pick of the franchise QB i understand that and don't entirely dispute it. however, Mr. Wilson has on numerous occasions in the past said for a team to be successful, it needs a leader, and by that he has always been referring to a franchise QB. as for another question raised here: -- i neglected to ask about Kelsay because Buddy Nix had cleared up that question in my mind last week. he referred to him as "a good player" who has proven he can lead by example in the locker room. say what you will about Kelsay's play on the field, he has value in that locker room as an even-keel, hard-working guy, who has earned plenty of respect from his teammates. jw Edited October 12, 2010 by john wawrow Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

No sir it doesn't have to be if you are willing to PAY to get things turned around. Kelsay? I don't give a rats ass he is a good guy, or a locker room guy, I want a guy that produces on the friggin field, something we have been lacking for 11 friggin years now. One simple question would be to ask if he's happy with his key FO people (modrak, littman, etc) and what grade he would give them. As a rebuttal to his 3 year argument (I take as a huge insult given 11 years of futility), I'd love to know how his division rival the dolphins can go 1-15 and make the playoffs the next year. Or look at Washington, was worse than Bills last year yet made a key FA signing at QB, a few trades and drafted a stud LT. Now they're competing for the playoffs the next year. coincidence they also signed a huge coach. Any owner saying a 3 year plan after 10 years of no playoffs deserves a big F-U from the fans as far as I'm concerned. what incentive now do fans have to hope for the next 2.5 years? why in the heck would i buy season tickets? to watch my fantasy players torch our defense?
