(sorry copy/paste is so bad from Mac to TSW)

This isn't horrible, and in my opinion it's pretty good. So what happened??

A. Bad teams made him look good

B. Worse OL

C. Concussion

D. Trent's confidence

E. DJ and Co made him worse?

F. Worse supporting cast?

I don't know the answer, I'm looking for them.

because trent knows he sucks and does not want to admit that he sucks. so he only says i got to look at the film and see what i did wrong and then blames other players for his bad play. Maybe hes bribing gailey to start him i dont know, but hes got to go and gailey has got to see that. He sucks and has not changed lets get brohm and brown out there they cant play much worse then what trent and fitz did yesterday. I mean that was horrid.

IMHO

I think it's a combination of all 6.

In light of full disclosure I was a big Trent fan ... still am a fan but I'm losing the faith.

My fears are that item C. may have lasting effects throughout his career (whether it's 3 more preseason games, or 20 more years)

and item D. needs to be corrected by Trent himself .... but the combination of items B. and F. very well may make that impossible.

Bottom line is ... we can put up with bad QB play caused by the lack of surrounding talent ... because we know that can be fixed eventually. But we can not put up with a physically impared "dizzy" self doubting guy behind center because failure will only feed those short commings.

A + B = D

He can't deal with the pass rush. He panics and plays scared when he's under pressure. Back when the OL was respectable and the opposition was mediocre, he was ok. When that changed, things wend south. Now that the OL stinks and the rest of the league knows that he can't play against pressure, the opposition takes him apart on a regular basis.

I just think that trent is scarred to be in the pocket. he has lost all his confidence over the years because of the oline and the turmoil in offensive coaches he just got indecisive with his throws. He scarred to take chances and when he tries he takes them at the worst moment and should have thrown the ball away instead. I think if trent has a couple of good games he could turn his game around, but right now he just a deer in headlights in the pocket. Its like he thinks that he could get sacked any second and needs to get the ball out as fast as he can which is his check down. He is not waiting for plays to develop and is not in sync with steve johnson yet.

Agree with all of this except it will take more than a couple of good games to repair the damage, if it can be done at all. Trent needs to be a backup for at least a season or two to get his mind right and then come back behind a strong OL and with a good running game to have any chance of saving his career, IMO.

Agree with all of this. Also think the League figured out that their secondary can cheat towards the line of scrimmage because Edwards doesn't throw the ball more than 10 yards down the field. It's like playing against a red zone defense on the entire field.

yes a agree with you. I think that trent needs to have confidence in his oline again which would make him calmer in the pocket and let plays develop.

B + D + bad coaching for 3 years = Current Trent

Perhaps the very early success was lethal to his development. I recall Adam Schein asking Trent as a rookie how he was able to "just come in and get it so fast", etc. I also recall Trent and Gibran talking about how they had had such a swell time playing golf all summer.

Trent was the anti-JP. JP was spastic in the pocket, held on the ball, launched bombs down the field ... Trent came in and was the total opposite. Ultra-quick, short throws to get the ball out of his hand as near instantly as possible. Defenses didn't have tape on Edwards and were caught with their shorts down, I believe. Once they figured out Trent had essentially no long game, the average or better defenses just slammed the door in his face. And, the Bills dismantled their OL in some comical, blundering epiphany of idiocy -- like tossing gasoline on a fire to put it out...
