Just kidding, was not to my taste, but understand several folks on here love them..shocking we all don't agree.

How much do they change up year to year? I went last year, and liked it, but not enough to go again if they didn't change much.

The first half is always the same - it's the story of Christmas Eve. The production changes (the stages have been getting more elaborate over the years, giving the musicians more mobility), but the music doesn't.

The second half is mixed up quite a bit from year to year and is usually completely different although they always play some fan favorites.

So they keep the part I didn't like :)

I love the first part (I can listen to that album in August and am surprised I haven't yet this year.) My niece, who I go with every year, hates the narrator, and therefore likes the 2nd part better.

I can get kind of bored during the 2nd part. There is only so much head banging instrumental heavy metal I can listen to.

I've been wanting to see this for a while, and I think things might line up this year to do so. I've looked around the site, but there doesn't seem to be a "sign up for notification" type thing...does anyone know about when tickets tend to go on sale?

Seems to me that it's usually beginning of September for the fan club tickets.....You can get seats close to the stage - I've had front rows........But, I think the light show, etc. is better seen from good lowers further back and I've got them in like October or November.........Last year, I waited too long and tried getting them in December, and all that left were 300 level.....I had to pull some strings to get in the lower bowl.

Agreed about sitting further back. I had I think it was row 4 and the spot lights they had along the foot of the stage would hit us right in the eyes sometimes as they moved them around. But it was cool seeing them perform that close.
