Channing Crowder OUT FOR SEASON

Recommended Posts

yup.

Manish is getting a real good reputation as a Jet beat reporter, but should probably stay away from reporting on stuff happening in South beach.

Listen, don't come onto THIS board spouting logic and posting links to back up reasonable opinions. You are the worst kind of troll.

BURN THE WITCH!

Folks, you all might wish to visit ESPN.COM and/or Twitter as Adam Schefter has stated that Crowder is not out for the season....

OR…you could have scrolled down to the 5th post on this thread where our friend, the Jets fan, proves himself yet again to be more intelligent, objective, and well-behaved than many purported Bills fans who participate on this board.

Nevertheless, thanks for your kind intentions.

BTW, kind of an epic mistake for a journalist (Meta).

Rule number one for aspiring journalists: get your facts straight.

I'm sure Channing Crowder was just as surprised to read that he was out for the season too. He prolly checked his foot again to make sure it was still in good working order. Silly staff writer.

And Rex thanks for being a classy poster. Much appreciated. Better than some on this board.

I officially hate pro football talk

Well that's fine. Go on hating.

As far as the story in question goes, it was first reported via Twitter by Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News

The story was then picked up by the Associated Press.

PFT, as a central clearing house of all NFL news then picked it up…and corrected it WITH APOLOGIES...

PFT is exactly what is WRONG in sports journalism. Reporting unverified information; in this case being a tweet from a reporter watching a rerun of a football game from last season. You know, in journalism school they used to teach you to verify stories. I guess that went out the window with the dawn of the Internet.

Report: Channing Crowder to miss season with foot injury

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on July 11, 2010 6:01 PM ET

UPDATE: This report was a mistake, the result of an NFL Network crawl from 2009 running on a re-aired game today. Channing Crowder is not out for 2010. We apologize for the error.
