Will the Bills be like Jacksonville ?

As you know Jacksonville has had to rope off thousands of seats in order to have sell outs...

The way the Bills are presently organized and playing, maybe next year the Bills will also have to rope off seats inorder to have sell outs...

It is not out of the realm of possibility, for fans are more discouraged about their team now then in the history of the organization. There has been a complete failure at the top of this organization to put a decent team on the field.

Only when it hits Mr. Wilson in the pocketbook will he take more positive action. When the fans do not support the team as they do in Jacksonville, Mr. Wilson will really feel the effects of having allowed the team to be in such disorder.

It all really starts and stops with him. Fans know this and next year they will not come back as strong as they have in the past. We may all love the Bills but fans will start putting their money to better use then seeing it going down the drain ...

They will wait till the team gets better on the field and not in press clippings.

Why would they have to rope off seats? Tickets sales have been doing well despite how the team has been playing.

Ticket sales were going well but with the Bills dismal display will those same people be willing to shell out big money for what the Bills are putting on the field... I doubt it. Bills Organization needs to make some big changes in the front office if they want the Fans to stay loyal. Who wants to shell out big bucks for what we are presently seeing? Changes need to be made.... Don't you agree ?

Changes are needed, but that wasn't the topic at hand. This team has been mediocre for the better part of 10 years yet we still have fewer blackouts than during the Super Bowl years. Tickets are selling regardless of the product on the field, so no I don't see the Bills roping off seats anytime soon like the Jags

Right. The only problem is, we don't shell out "big bucks" by any stretch. We have by far the lowest average ticket price in the league. It's a classic case of you get what you pay for. More ticket revenue would give the Bills a bigger budget for free agent signings.Ralph currently has a business model of "cash to cap". He will pay out in salaries and bonuses in a given year a figure equal to the current salary cap. Meaning his Bills are paid by the TV revenue. Many other teams overpay relative to the cap by amortizing large bonuses. Not that cash to cap is inherently bad, but it only works if your owner (unlike Ralph) is committed to investing in a quality front office. Drafting and judicious free agent signings are paramount in running a more frugal organization. The Pittsburgh Steelers are a good example of this type of franchise. Ralph hires flunkies as coaches and GM's. The players still get paid huge sums as their salaries are largely set by other teams comparables. There is no cap for GM's and coaches, and Ralph pays on the low end of the scale.

Regarding the Bills' ticket prices, maybe they aren't big bucks to people who pay ridiculous prices in New England or Dallas, but to the majority of blue collar, hard working people in WNY, $50 (which is close to our average ticket price) isn't pocket change by any stretch of the imagination
