  1. AMEN! now can we stop these Peters threads over and over and over again. Same arguments start on 58 different threads about Peters. You (i.e Russ Brandon) have pretty much summed up the situation from the front office's standpoint - which some on here look over or fail to recognize.
  2. i'm there. where are the best tailgate spots these days? live in DC and finally making it back for a home opener... i think we win big - 24-10. ML and Evans both have big days on O.
  3. marcus stroud is going to put his helmet in bradys knee, ending his season. and kelsay is going to put his helmet into Favre's head and end his life.
  4. you are correct, i was reading quite a bit of positiveness from our offense this preseason! Why shouldnt I? we have sucked for 9 years. our offense has been awful. we havent had a decent line or QB since SB years. If you think everything single play, drive, score, TD, turnover, tackle, INJURY etc is meaningless in the preseason and wont carry over in any way to production (or non) in the regular season then why are you even on this board discussing the team and preseason and how we are going to be this year? with our w/o Peters? Peters hasnt been here, hence our line has had to shuffle, and for the minimal amount of time they have played in 3 games, they've looked pretty darn good. now if thats wrong, then i dont want to be right. GO BILLS
  5. why this blanket statement? Some would argue that CB's are the most important position on the field - see big deals for Champ Bailey, Asante Samuel etc. A lockdown corner is exactly that - he doesnt need anyone to slide coverage (LB, S or another CB), which means said player can focus elsewhere. I have no problem with DJ picking Donte Whitner 3 years ago (see how important dominant safties are on PLAYOFF teams - Bob Sanders, Troy P...), and certainly not going CB this year as CB was arguably our weakest/least depth position last year. I feel like I read alot (whether its you or not i dont know) about people compaining about DJ 'always picking DB's'.... Langston is not Jason Peters, but he has played well in the preseason...and last i checked our first team O has looked much better than last year. With Turks' quick dropbacks/throws, hopefully we wont need to rely AS much on the line as previous years.
  6. i like him, but i also like how age has caught up to him as he doesnt complete his sentences. they just kind of drift off...and we are supposed to finish his thought. he is a Bills fan, god bless him...and he is still a top broadcaster/analyst/whatever - i cant stand the NBC crew.
  7. agreed he's not a starter, but he has looked much better and bigger this year. he's a competent backup at the least.
  8. ahhhh, that explains everything. Good luck in school!
  9. relax dude. has there been one bad thing said about JP from the media, coaches, or teammates this summer - about pouting, crying, angry, pissed off he's been demoted? going through his roller coaster career thus far being starter, non-starter, starter, non starter, he has handled it better than 99% of professional athletes. Get off your high horse negging him and ML, etc. You seem to know alot about the feelings and actions of the Bills, you should go for Chris Browns job.
  10. Hey guy - it was a copy and past function. he was average last year, he had one really solid game which happened to be on monday night against the colts. i'll bet you my life he doesnt carry the ball 300 times this season; and I live in DC, even the B'More news is talking down on him.
  11. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/billsnfl/story/418919.html I'm personally a TE 'football' guy, but it's nice to see a professional (JP) act like one. If there were one guy that could be holding out right now it's him.
  12. this was on fanball: Willis McGahee could miss the rest of the preseason, according to the Baltimore Sun. Furthermore, reporter Mike Preston says McGahee does not have many fans in the Baltimore front office because his work ethic is substandard, and it would not be a shock to see him get cut before the end of the regular season. Our View With the quality play of rookie Ray Rice, McGahee could be deemed expendable. This news has to alarm fantasy owners who invested a high pick in the former Miami back. It is absolutely imperative to handcuff Rice should you choose to draft McGahee. I hope he gets cut, and sits and watches the Bills make a playoff run with Lynch rushing for 2,000 yards. oh - and here is a note on Jason Peters. you suck.
  13. and maybe many were getting hurt so early last year b/c we didnt give them enough 'action' in the preseason to get ready for a full 4 quarters.... my other thought was that since we are playing on a thursday night this week, which is a short week, maybe DJ was going light on saturday to give them extended action tomorrow night. i can only hope, and here is to praying that a big time LT makes his (or her) way to buffalo soon.
  14. i have no clue what the cheeshead were calling McCarthy yesterday or today and dont really care. If you have read the board lately, its been non stop fuss about how bad edwards and our offense was, and how our O looks the same as last year. It was plain and simply just looking at another teams 'pre season' work compared to ours. I dont care if edwards goes 0-12 (ok i might a little) in the game tomorrow, but at least it shows me that we are attempting to separate ourselves from last years run, run, pass mentality.
  15. Aaron Rodgers - project, 1st year starting QB, has proven nothing in the NFL. What do the Pack do last night - they throw, throw, then throw some more to get his confidence up, the WR's confidence up in him, and the Pack Fans confidence in Aaron takin over the reigns. I couldnt help but watch in awe of how refreshing an offense they run, so unpredictable - throw on 1st down, go deep on 1st down, quick outs, quick hits, rollouts/bootlegs, RB draws on 2nd etc etc. I hope the Turk and DJ were taking notes, and backs up his talk the next few games about 'opening up the offense'. Give our starters a taste of his action in the preseason - and who gives a sh-t about showing your 'all mighty special plays' and new offense. If they dont work in the regular season, what good are they anyways?
  16. everythin on this board is repeated a thousand times over agian - see JP/TE. relax guy.
  17. All things considered, I'm starting to get nervous about Peters not being in camp - more for the reason of gelling with the line, screwing up Langston who is now playing LT instead of RT, and lastly being out of shape and not in tune with Turk's new offense. I obviously have no clue about any communication between the FO and him, but is he really going to pull a T.O. move from Philly a couple years ago? Even Chad Johnson showed up to camp, and he has much more than 1 good season under his belt. Is it any coincidence that the last 2 big name holdouts - SJax and Peters are both rep'd by Eugene Parker? Is he trying to make a name for himself to compete with Rosenhaus? These agents should be 'fined' or held responsible too if their name is on a contract with 1,2, 3 or 50 years left on a deal they signed - while they are holding their players back from reporting. F'ing agents have way too much control in sports.
  18. enough bashing OUR team already.....arent you sick of bantering about who sucks worse and how bad we have it? Positives I took from the game: Fred Jackson looks really good...again; Roscoe made a couple great catches, our ST's look to again be a force (even with losing many ST Players), in the couple runs ML had he still refuses to go down, and Hardy could be the # 2 guy we have been looking for. Give Trent a break, its the preseason - he doesnt make the calls from the sidelines...and give Turk a break, he had 2 series with our starting O. our defense was missing 3 starters and obviously wanted to take a look at youboty....we have a month until our season opens up, and i'm still counting on a wild card.
  19. 2 years = whole career? he made big strides last year; our DL isnt exactly our strong suit - and that includes Kyle Williams. I also cant believe this Roscoe talk either....he is the only player on our team that can make a big play out of nothing with the ball in his hands. He will never be a # 1 receiver, but man, cutting him is just ridiculous. i went to the game last night; and granted we didnt look the best, but it was easy to see and feel that it def had the 'feel' of the 1st preseason game. neither team was too excited/jumping around on the sidelines. give the 'we suck, trent sucks' talk a rest. 2 series for our 1st teamers (both missing starters) doesnt exactly constitute much to me - and certaintly not enough to base an entire 17 week season on. Fred Jackson is the real deal. Justin Jenkins showed some good quickness, and Wendling is a big hitter. My Cut - Wright, Cox.
  20. there will be some of us in the purple lot playin bags...prob be one of the few groups wearing bills gear. home opener one month from today...Trent needs to get the offense rollin and peters his ass to camp.
  21. Anyone going and/or tailgating? Should be nice night out.
  22. AMEN. I wonder if he reads the bills brass quotes on this in the paper? Players do this every year, LJ for the Chiefs did it last year, and once he showed up to camp he got paid. I'm not too worried as of yet, b/c I'd rather have a healthy Peters come Sept 7th; but I'd like to see him get into camp at least in the next week or two. His agent is a huge dick in negotiations...so i read.
  23. the man is a genius, clearly. couldnt have put it better myself..
