Will next year be 15 years of missing the playoffs? Glad I didn't line up for One Bills Drive kool aid this offseason. Should be interesting to listen to the homers say how much harder the Bills have been playing under Marrone... this is a young team...give the new coaches a chance...you just gotta Billieve!! Heard it and seen it over and over...new faces, just same ol' schitty Bills year after year.

I think the Bills at a minimum will go 7-9 with wins coming from Pit, Atl, TB & Jax. The 3 that are the big questions are the divisional games. It's possible the Bills could beat Miami again, but I don't see the Bills beating the same divisional opponent twice (hope to be wrong). The Jets & their defense will be very tough. If the Pats rest their starters then the Bills have a good chance of winning that game, otherwise if Brady & the rest of the starters play, the Bills will have a hard time winning.

[closed]I think you have to pin this loss on Stevie

I always thought a WR's job was to get open and provide an outlet for his QB, now you're saying SJ shouldn't have done that? -
Need a better pass catching TE

I believe he had 3 (which doesn't include Goodwin's pass break up). -

Graham should be demoted down to 5th or 6th WR and have Goodwin promoted to being the 3rd WR/deep threat. Imagine if the Bills had a top 10 QB with their current offense. Hopefully that will happen before Pettine leaves to become a HC somewhere in the NFL. He had more than 1 drop today. -
Today, Chandler had some costly drops which would have kept moving the chains. As a pass blocker, he's below average (as evident by last week and other games as well). Don't get me wrong, I like Scott Chandler, but IMO he is an above average backup (or #2 TE) at best.

The Bills are giving this game away -
http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2013/10/30/5045976/bills-vs-chiefs-buffalo-protection-problems-vs-blitz "Yes, Erik Pears was beaten soundly by Cameron Jordan for a sack, and Cordy Glenn was walked backwards into Lewis by Junior Galette to force a hit and an overthrow. Other than that, the Bills' offensive line was fairly competent in pass protection against the Saints. Buffalo's problems keeping Lewis clean largely stemmed from their inability to handle the blitz." "Flip through the gallery above to see what we're driving at: the Saints routinely sent five, six and even seven pass rushers at Lewis. Buffalo's backs and tight ends missed blocks. Ill-timed (and poorly executed) play fakes slowed down Lewis' ability to recognize the pressures. When Lewis did diagnose the blitzes pre-snap, he struggled to correctly identify and hit his hot reads." I noticed Scott Chandler and the Bills RB's having problems picking up the blitz against the Saints. I'm not sure how much Lee Smith is used during the game, but I feel he is a much better blocker than Chandler and should be used more in pass protection. Will that solve the problems in picking up the blitz? Who knows, but Marrone & Hackett need to come up with a solution, otherwise the Bills QB's will continue to take a pounding.

The Bills may sit CJ this week vs the Saints

I agree that Spiller should rest for a week. What would also help the run game is if Hackett calls a few reverses to Goodwin & Graham during the game. -
The trial and errors of the new Bills
Jerry Jabber replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One, because I feel like it. Two, I agree with the author's points. While the Bills are in close games, they are making a lot of mistakes which are proving to be their downfall. -

The Bills had chances to win all of those games, but the aforementioned mistakes proved to be too costly for the team to overcome. It seems the new Bills staff is quickly learning from its mistakes, but how many more mistakes will we see throughout this season and over the next couple of years which could cost the team more victories?"

I was interested in seeing where Mario ranked on sacks for this season, and so far he's 3rd on the list with 7.5. http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?tabSeq=0&statisticCategory=SACKS&conference=null&season=2013&seasonType=REG While 7.5 sacks in 5 games is impressive, I'm surprised at the sack numbers of Justin Houston (8.5) and Robert Mathis (9.5). Not only does it seem that Strahan's sack record could be broken this year (22.5 sacks), but there's a strong possibility there could be multiple players surpassing it as well. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/sacks_single_season.htm

Glad to be wrong as hell on my prediction. Great job by the defense with 5 INT's. -

After seeing the Ravens beat the Texans 30-9, I feel they are going to give even a bigger beating to the Bills today. Flacco is going to eat up the Bills depleted secondary with deep passes to Torrey Smith & Jacoby Jones. Ravens 41, Bills 17. -
It's time to sit/trade EJ

Thanks for the comedy this morning, that made me laugh. -
The no-huddle uptempo offense Turk Schonert tried implementing with Trent Edwards years ago failed miserably and that got scrapped at the end of the preseason that year as Schonert & Walker were canned 10 days before the season opener. If Hackett, Manuel and the offense can't get their version of it working, are they going to continue with it for the whole season, even if it means putting more pressure on an already beat up defense?
