"Take your pick: Edwards or Losman in KC?"
devldog131 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know, but you really have to spell it out for some of the people around here. They could read "The Raven" and think Edgar Allen Poe wants JP to start. They just read whatever they want out of wherever the feel like. -
No problem, I'm here to help. Well, help everybody but ieatcrayonz's crazy ass.

The other two games are the strength of schedule games. They are against the teams in the two divisions in your conference who finished in the same position the prior season. Last season we were second in the AFC East. This season we play the entire AFC West, the browns, who were second in the AFC North and the Jaguars, who were second in the AFC South.

If you read carefully, you'll notice he never said start Losman, he just said have Edwards "on a short leash against the Chiefs." -
Trent has a better supporting cast than JP did
devldog131 replied to RVJ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did you not notice that perfect 22-yard laser on the final drive? I think the coaches made a mistake not trying to move in closer. A funk like the one TE is in can be snapped out of quite suddenly, as suddenly as it started. Losman had ample opportunity and failed to capitalize, his chance is over. He even called himself out last season prior to the Jerksonville Jagoffs game. -
You need one more W at the end there. There's no way we have a first round bye, so we have to win 4 times in the postseason. It could happen...

An Objective View of Edwards

can't really believe it but ...

You might as well give up. I have spent the last day and a half trying to explain to people that the season is far from over, but the bull-headed pessimists refuse to listen to reason. -

Just let it go. Unless Trent gets hurt(knocking on wood right now) you are never again going to see JP on the field in a Bills uniform. You might as well just accept it and support the guy who is going to be starting for us for a few years. -
I see the mistake laden play the last few weeks not as a lack of good coaching, but as a typical symptom of young players learning the pro game. Here are some interesting facts for you: Avg NFL experience of team(as of opening day) = 2.8 yrs Avg NFL experience of starters(those listed 1st on bb.com depth chart) = 3.9 yrs If you ask me, some mistakes are to be expected from a team this inexperienced. But on the bright side, many of our players have many years left and will only improve(including all of the promising youg talent on the roster) setting us up for a long period of success.

As I said earlier, aside from the QB play(which I billieve is an abberation) the rest of the team played very well Monday night. The O-Line was dominant, the backs were spectacular, the defense(especially the secondary) were great, the special teams were fantastic, Fewell called a great game, and with the exception of the last 3 plays, Schonert called a dynamic and unpredictable game. Had Trent not experienced the struggles he had, Monday night would have been a blowout win. If Trent can straighten himself out and the rest of the team continues to play the way they did Monday, we could very well win out and end up 11-5 and in the playoffs.

Love the dick-o-meter, thats funny -
If the cheats beat the fish, the fish beat the jests week 17, and we beat all three, the entire AFC East would have a 3-3 division record. I like the way that looks. Very big IFs though.

I am very optimistic. The QB struggled, but we say some signs of life from this team monday. The line was again dominant, the backs were fantastic, the defense was better than it has been lately, the secondary was great, Fewell called a great game and with the exception of the last 3 plays, Schonert called a dynamic and unpredictable game. I see no reason not to be optimistic. This team is far better than they were the last number of seasons and I am extremely happy about that. And, in the end, I'm just a fan. My livelihood doesn't depend on the success of the team(although sometimes my mental state does), I just love to watch the game of football and I am loving watching this group of young players grow and improve into what will be a great team.

Right, because we didn't suck entirely until 1988? In the 20+ years I've been a fan, we have a winning record fewer than half of them. I have been through the struggles before the "glory days" and have stood by this team through the struggles of the last decade, never losing faith in my team and never doubting their ability to turn things around. Just because I wasn't alive for the sad sad seventies doesn't make me less of a fan of this team. If anything, the fact that I have never lived in WNY and hadn't even seen it until four months ago makes me a better fan. I grew up and lived most of my life in the San Francisco bay area, during the raiders last superbowl and the years that the 40 whiners dominated the league. It would have been very easy for me to say "you know what, why don't I just support the local team," but I didn't, despite the local teams 5 superbowl rings. The fact that you are older than me does not make you a better fan of the Bills. And doesn't mean I haven't been through plenty of struggles and heartbreak with this team.

Thats the one. "The hit heard round the world" as whiner fans like to call it. I was a fresh faced teenager, got the tickets 11 days prior as a b'day present, rocked every piece of Bills gear I had been able to buy with my minimum wage job, and had middle-aged SF fags fans trying to start fights with me. Summummabiches had too much wine and cheese at their tailgate. -

Since the mid-eighties, pal. Just because I continue to billieve in my team when things aren't going well means I'm new? How do you come to that conclusion?

If JP becomes an all-pro, or at least a serviceable qb, somewhere else, then good for him. I don't see the potential in him for that to happen, but good luck to him, and good riddance. -

Go Bills. This is coming from a Bills fane who has only driven through Buffalo one time and stopped at the Ralph during the offseason when nothing was happening. I was born and raised in California, live in Boston and have only seen the Bills play on the road(@ SF in 95, @ Oak in 05 and @ NE* this year). Despit all of this, I couldn't see myself ever loving another professional sports team the way I love the wagon circling Buffalo Bills! -

Get over it. JP is not the starting quarterback and he is not going to be the starting quarterback. After this season, he won't even be a Buffalo Bill. Let it go and move on.
