  1. Play em instead of trading them. Use the spread - four receiver - formation. Our tight ends are useles, we have good WRs. Put em on the field together. Evans and Owens out wide, reed and Parrish inside.
  2. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orl-...0,2027172.story Excellent article on the spread offense used by Florida Gators and how it is working its way into the NFL. Dolphins and Pats already on top of this, of course, but with our WRs, maybe we should be doing a little creative thinking. Not sure if the link would work, so I copied the article here. -------------------- If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
  3. I like to hear someone called "a player", even if it is by Dick J. That is what separates guys. Although I do not doubt that Reggie Corner is a player, I see that he is only 5'9" and 175 pounds. Is that really big enough in the NFL to stop even the slot receivers, let alone the Randy Mosses? Oh well, maybe size doesn't matter at CB. Anyway, are there - in your view - any others players on the Bills? That is, guys who just play beyond their size and speed? I can't think of many, but here is my list: McKelvin Schobel K. Williams Jackson Reed McGee Hopefully, Reggie Corner turns out to be another Terrence McGee. I'll be satisfied with that.
  4. Aaron Maybin at #11, a first round pick, but he is a tall, skinny pass rusher. He is not gonna be a LDE inthe NFL. He's either gonna be a bust or a good RDE. Right now, we got Schobel at RDE, so if he is healthy, do you sit Maybin or try something creative until Schobel is ready to step down? My suggestion for Dicky is to try Maybin in Ellison's spot. How could he be worse? On that side then, lined up to either blitz or cover. you have Aaron Schobel, Aaron Maybin and Leodis McKelvin. How does an opponent block them? On the other hand, if the other team runs the ball to the left, who makes the tackle? Well, Ellison wouldn't anyway. Sol, the question arises, where does Maybin fit? It sure ain't LDE. So where? I'm sayin, Ellison's spot.
  5. Right. Hope this - not so much the injury part, but the competition part - is the beginning of a change that Camp Jauron for Sissies develops and runs all summer. Rather see the injuries now than when it counts. Still hope TM recovers fully, as I'm a big fan of his.
  6. Agree, Johnson is probably the smartest. He knew how to win ("cheat") as a coach and he knows a good team when he sees one. I remember a few years ago, when someone on the Fox crew thought the Bills would make the playoffs, he just said "with a second-year quarterback?" (meaning JP) and you knew it would be another long year. He is the analyst I would put my money on picking games. As for analysts who know theXs and Os, I'll go with Jaws. By the way, I would take either guy as our next head coach.
  7. I thought the article was right on. Took a little courage to say it too. It's a sad world.
  8. Despite a tougher schedule, John Clayton thinks the Bills will be one of seven "surprise" teams in the nFL this season. His rationale has to do with TO, who he says usually takes teams to 24 points a game average. Last year, they averaged 21 and the difference, he says, should take Buffalo to 9-7. The guy has been pretty accurate in his predictions over the last five years, using his formula. Problem is, 9-7 might not be playoff material. My feeling is - while I would enjoy watching those nine wins, it probably wouldn't get them in the playoffs and it would keep Jauron around another year. It's a Catch 22: you want them to get either 10 or more wins or suck badly, so Dick is fired. 9-7 or 8-8 might be the worst possible scenario.
  9. Good list those who extend contracts should consider, though the injury thing would depend on the circumstances. So far, he has met none of your criteria. What are your expectations for this year? I'm thinkingthe first 3 are do-able.
  10. Let's see, Donte Whitner: slow, so can't cover (see him burned last year inceoverage?) not a good tackler fairly small mouthy Great pick there, Marv. Lot of money for a back-up safety.
  11. Yeah, Lori, you are about the only actual football reporter in WNY, as far as I can tell. The rest are just "mouths". Big love seems to be for hockey.
  12. Wow, impressive and honest answers into the Oline plans. thanks for the report. The Jason peters info was pretty well what I expected, only worse...he just wasn't gonna play in Buffalo. We're better off without him.
  13. Read this and learn. Thank you... Sam Wyche.
  14. There is NO wayof telling. We lost good players, picked up good player, but we have the same coach(es) and same QB. What I DO KNOW is that Jauron will blow calls and I'm also WORRIED that the Arizona head-shot Trent suffered will make him forever gun-shy. I sure hope he can overcome this, because if he does, this offense will be impressive.
  15. Roth knows nada about football. He's a hockey fanatic. Like almost every western NY journalist.
  16. This why we will never be anything but an armpit.
  17. Rashad Jennings RB Liberty. Best player in the Senior Bowl.
  18. One has Maybin and Unger, the other has Pettigrew and Ayers. Both are appealing. Point is, how can the Bills possibly screw up THIS draft?
  19. Yeah, that would be in the Bills tradition - picking a player at 11 you could wait and get at 28. Great thinking.
