  1. That defensive idea just might work......we would have 12 players on the field and if the ref's don't notice, it would be one heck of an advantage!!
  2. So you are saying that he is a one-dimensional receiver? You are proving my point that Lee isn't a true #1 receiver...a true #1 can do it all Like I said in the original post, I like Lee, I'm just stating the obvious fact that he hasn't shown the ability to handle the #1 receiver role, and if T.O. leaves after this year, the Bills will have to address the situation. (I guess I had to respond after all!)
  3. Thanks for posting this......I was going to respond to the complaints in the thread, but I read your post and I couldn't have said it better
  4. I hate to bash on Lee Evans because he is a good teammate and a good receiver, but it has become painfully obvious that he is not a number 1 receiver. My new nickname for him is "the Magician", because he has been doing a great disappearing act every gameday since the second half of last season. I'm not going to bash his contract either, because I understand you have to overpay sometimes to keep from creating a big hole on your team. Luckily for the Bills, he will be a number 2 receiver this season, and hopefully he can be Peerless Price to T.O.'s Eric Moulds circa 10 years ago, and put up some good numbers in a position in which he surely will be much more comfortable.(Obviously, I'm assuming T.O.'s return will keep the offense from being as horrid as it has been the last 2 weeks.) Unfortunately, the Bills will be in a tough spot if Owens leaves after this year, because top-line receiver help will have to be a high priority next offseason....and number 1 receivers are not easy to come by--just ask Lee Evans.
  5. I watched the game with Jaguars announcers down here in Fla., which included former left tackle Tony Boselli. Boselli basically called out Peters when asked if the trade plus the contract extension was worth it for the Eagles. He said they did it based on his performance from 2-3 years ago and they are gambling that he will return to that form this year. He stated that not only was he out of shape last year because of contract proiblems, but that Peters' technique had markedly declined as well, and its a huge risk that the Eagles have taken.
  6. I dislike Jones and the Cowboys as much as anyone, but there is a big difference between not winning a playoff game in a decade and not making the playoffs at all in a decade....just sayin'
  7. He must have been using his other eye when he signed Preston
  8. They actually had a show on ESPN Classic called "Cheap Seats"......not sure if they still show the reruns or not, but it was a pretty funny show.
  9. Do you really believe anyone would want to read it?
  10. Just a thread bump to remind people that this is on tonight/tomorrow morning, depending on how you want to look at it.
  11. I didn't understand why Gina let "her" up there either. I recall the announcers making a point to call it a big mistake as it was happening.
  12. That's why I said in the original post that it was prob. a good thing he stopped it. To echo your point, when did the"Mixed" in Mixed Martial Arts start meaning a woman fighting a man???? Cyborg is an operation away from being a dude, IMO.
  13. http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2009/8/16/99042...arano-vs-cyborg Not a huge fan of MMA, but I am a fan of Gina's.......its a shame the ref didn't give her a chance get to round 2, but maybe it was a good thing as she seemed to be overmatched. Here's a pic of Gina if you aren't familiar with her: http://img.xcitefun.net/users/2009/02/3107...ano-maxim-0.jpg
  14. I do not always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.......stay thirsty my friends!!!
  15. by the way.....the food here at Chargers camp is the worst in the league
  16. finished crazy internet poker session lost $60 with pocket K's, then won $110 2 hands later with 9 7 of spd's can you say roller coaster ride?
  17. I've done the rides on top of the Statosphere Tower in Las Vegas: http://www.vegas-gallery.de/data/media/84/x-scream_1.jpg Basically, the ride in the picture goes straight off the edge of the tower at about 1100 feet. Wild stuff. I would do the skywalk at the Grand Canyon, and these Sears Tower balconies, but I can't say it wouldn't make me uneasy.
  18. Bear Grylls of Man vs. Wild named his last two sons Marmaduke and Huckleberry.
  19. What's funny is that I cashed out $300 of profit less than a week earlier.....then this happens......I don't believe in conspiracy theories, so I'm sure its just a coincidence. P.S.: I just found $20 on the street today....maybe a little Karmic justice for those bad beats
  20. I play online on Pokerstars, and am a pretty consistent winner....I play somewhat small stakes, however (.50/$1 blind cash games). Haven't had a losing week in about 6 months, but what happened Friday night will end that streak. Six consecutive bad beats which cost me $290 in about an hour and a half.....always had the best hand when the money went in....not used to losing like that six times in a row I guess I'll need a week off to recover from that......just wanted to vent, but it made me wonder if anyone else has a bad beat story they would like to share
  21. Reports down here are that the Magic made an offer to Turk, and he turned it down(not enough money), so the Magic pulled the trigger on this trade. I personally don't like it because Lee had to be included in the deal. The other two were expiring contracts that the Magic were looking to move to make room for signing Turk. IMO, this trade kind of gives the Magic some leverage in negotiations with Turk. He absolutely wants to stay in Orlando, but he had all the leverage before this trade....maybe his asking price will go down to come back to such a stacked team. The trade only looks good if Turk is signed, or at the worst, sign-and-traded. Funny thing is the Magic only have 8 players under contract and they are over the luxury tax already. The owner says he is willing to go over the tax to win a championship in the next few years(aging owner going all-out to win....insert Ralph Wilson comment here)....plus, they are expecting huge revenues from the new Arena that opens in 2010.
  22. 91 degrees with ridiculous humidity down here in Orlando.....heat index near 100. Sadly, its an improvement from last weekend, when the temerature was 97 degrees, with a heat index around 110. I hate Florida in June-August
