The only defense for what we are seeing is if we believe Washington is so bad we can run a basic preseason type offense and still win. They probably will not score 3 more FGs in the 4th.

Run, run, pass. Good teams tend to pass more on 1st down.

A bunch of 35yd or less attempts will tend to do that.

We are winning, but not convincingly, against this 1-7 team playing a rookie QB in his first start. The Bills are a middle of the league team with a soft schedule. Also, we should hold a punter tryout.

No. Teams that blocked a PAT would run it down to the 1 yard line and fall down, so that they had 1st and goal for a TD. The 2 point return would never happen except in 1 point games in the 4th.

Earlier in the week someone said AP could gash us for 200. Everyone jumped on that and talked about what a bad take it was. How does it look now?

Kyle Williams retired, and Harrison Phillips ended up getting injured. That can't help things.

Some analytics guy probably pointed out that Josh's YPC last year were higher than the RBs, especially with kneel downs taken out.

The Bills D is more oriented to stopping the pass rather than power running. That is good, because the NFL is a passing league overall. But what is not good, is that the offense does not score enough to force opposing teams to go pass heavy.

So after this we're 5-2. We need to pull it together enough to beat Washington; 6-2. Based on the last 2 weeks, we can forget about beating Dallas, NE, or Baltimore. So, we need to beat 4 out of 5 of: Miami, Jets, Denver, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh in order to get to 10-6. That is a reasonable possibility. We could end up at 9-7 and miss the playoffs. I don't think it will get worse than that. By the way, terrible effort from Josh and co on this last drive before the 2 min.

We might have been able to run the ball with better play design. Or more runs up the middle.

It's 2 games. Miami made our D look pretty bad for most of last week. But Miami wasn't good enough, as a team to really make it stick.
