I know. If they went out and hired Rich Kotite or Bill Callahan it would be one thing but at least give a guy a chance to fail before you deem him a failure. This guy's record has been stellar since he was hired by Dungy in Indy.
True but he didn't "just listen" as long with other teams that have called in recent years. The looming lockout may have something to do with it though. He may be cool on Buffalo but hot on coaching next year and Buffalo may well be the only viable option and he is in no hurry to decide as the Bills aren't either.
Thanks John. I just don't understand why Cowher just doesn't come out and say he is not interested like he has every other time in the past. It seems to be the case...but i guess he knows that we are Bills fans and we never take the quick and easy death...
Yeah...it really is amazing how much of a difference the network can make. The past two offseasons Schefter was scooping everyone and now Glazer is just abusing him on the scoop front. Would sources rather not deal with ESPN? There's got to be something. It is pretty noticeable.
Hey, it's easy to hate a city until you've been out of work for two years, have to travel to the 4th best NFC game every weekend to announce it, and there are no other job openings. Not talking about anyone in particular right now or anything...
Like anything else everyone has an agenda. I mean Mort clearly hated the Bills after they fired Donahoe right? It's just human nature anyway, nothing to get too worked up about.
Went with Jason Fox...might not be as good as some of the blue chip guys in the first round but I'll take him with the constellation that we'd have McClain playing LB for us.
That's another problem with these guys. They become close friends with guys like Cowher and Donahoe when they are in the media with them and they think that they think of situations in the same way. It's easy when you've never coached before to just assume that a guy wouldn't enter a situation that you don't think he would but for a coach it's different. A coach is a coach. If Bill Cowher wants to coach, maybe he'll just come to Buffalo and coach. It's a lot more simple than these guys think it is sometimes.
Eh, I think it seems like a pretty vindictive statement considering he claimed Schottenheimer wouldn't take the job and further claimed a large caveat for the job being so unattractive was that one of Marty's good friends was named GM. Also Billick hasn't exactly hidden his open campaign for the job (how many times does a guy have to bring up the fact that he hasn't been called yet). I'm a bit surprised because I usually find PK rather neutral on things. Again, not sure Cowher wants to actually come here but this seems like another statement that wasn't totally necessary.
Well, thanks to you they now know that we know that they know so we will have to extend the radius to 500 miles around both Buffalo and Raleigh to be safe.
Tim - simple question - why such a gross lack of news on the coaching front? Are they really just keeping a tight lip on it? Or do they even really have any candidates?
