Jason Peters Pass-Blocking Skills
Steely Dan replied to bourbonboy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe it isn't his blocking technique maybe he just sucks! "I feel that's true," said Peters, who will become the Eagles' first opening-day left tackle other than Tra Thomas since Jermane Mayberry in 1997. "I'm always willing to learn. I just take it all in and then put it out on the field." Am I misinterpreting that or does that mean they've never had an opening day left tackle? What did they do with that position for the first game? -
GM is selling Hummer to the Chinese
Steely Dan replied to Magox's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
You said you didn't specifically say anything about it being economic. Which implies I did. mmmmmkay. You needed to be clearer. You should have said; Dean, where did you get the idea I said something about military secrets. JMO. All of us are missing the point. If a lot of people don't understand you then maybe it's you not them. mmmmkay. -
I'm guessing a family related problem that Nelson doesn't want talked about right now or maybe he's marrying Jeannie.

Bruce Smith names his HOF presenter
Steely Dan replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He also kept Bruce focused by taking away any worry of his car rusting. I'll second that When I heard they fired him I figured that Donahoe had suffered a brain aneurysm. -
GM is selling Hummer to the Chinese
Steely Dan replied to Magox's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
PUNCH!! PUNCH!! Where did I say it will specifically help them out economically? What I meant, since you don't get it, is that GM is divesting itself of divisions that are more trouble than they're worth to GM. Why hasn't GM sold off Chevy or Buick? They make money for the company. GM is giving up Hummer because they can't make it a profitable line. So, I'm saying the Chinese have bought a struggling brand. I doubt they will be able to do any better than GM did with it. The whole idea behind this is that the Chinese company thinks it will make money from it. Most of the manufacturing, if not all, will be done in America. The article is a little vague on if they will move some production overseas. So if production is done in America then how does that help them technologically very much? They can come over and watch production but they could also have people take a tour of GM. Where did I say they were sharing military secrets? You're show has been canceled. -
The old horses don't have an overdrive. That's a relatively new horse design. What's this? Clip clop, clip clop, clip clop BANG BANG clip clop clip clop clip clop.... An Amish drive by shooting.

GM is selling Hummer to the Chinese
Steely Dan replied to Magox's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
PUNCH!! Dude, if you read my comments I said they don't try to make the whole car the same they try to duplicate some things. The fact that they couldn't do some things just goes to show you how inept Detroit has been. Tell me why they would send out corporate spies when they can ascertain the same info from just buying one? -
Not always. The things that don't overlap obvious law and fall into religious realms only and they shouldn't be regulated by the government. I.E. intelligent design being forced into schools. Insisting the day open with a Christian prayer in schools and on and on....

GM is selling Hummer to the Chinese
Steely Dan replied to Magox's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
So GM can't make Hummer profitable but the Chinese will? If the Chinese do better with Hummer than GM I'll eat Jason Peters' excrement. If China has the ability to make great cars why aren't there any that I know about? They are selling the name not the ability to convince anyone to buy it. IMO, this is like a heart surgeon selling his equipment to an engineer. The engineer may be able to figure out the technology but that won't make him a successful heart surgeon. I hate to tell you this but car companies buy each others products all the time and try to figure out how they do certain things. They aren't looking to duplicate the whole car just things they haven't thought of or want to know more about. In the early seventies Detroit was buying VW Beetles to see how they produced such quality. Why try industrial spying when you can legally go out and acquire a competitors product. Pen companies don't send in operatives to find out how another companies pens are made. They send a kid from the mail room down to the stationary store. -
That's not a religious belief. That's a universal one. I can't think of a reason why the government has to ever enforce a religious belief. They can enforce the ability of us to worship but shouldn't enforce our religious beliefs. JMO

Why?

The analogy should be you wake up to find out you are connected to less cells than your fingernail and are told in nine months it could be a baby. I'd find that a much simpler decision. JMO

Brandon Marshall won't be suspended again
Steely Dan replied to VOR's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wonder what he'd have done if the charges against Marshawn were dropped the next day. I don't think he would've suspended him. I think he would have gotten a warning like Marshall did. Marshall's past transgressions should factor heavily against him though in any situation that involves arrest. -
I haven't heard of any bombings of anti-abortion associations or assassinations of anti-abortion leaders either. It's just a stupid article because there are so many other things to bash O'Reilly about. So I'm assuming from that stance you believe: Any rape victim who gets an early term abortion is going to hell? Even 13 year old girls? Even incest victims? A woman with three children should let herself die instead of aborting her fourth child? I have a friend who is a rape victim and she seethes anytime somebody tells her she should have had the baby. Of course the anti-abortionists wont do it to her face because if they sat and listened to her story they wouldn't be able to fault her morally without looking like a complete immoral ass. I also have worked in an ED at a hospital. Unfortunately I overheard nurses talking about the things women were subjected to. Everyday I had to go through a list of cases that had been brought in the night before (yes it was related to the pharmacy job) and there was always at least two sexual assaults on the docket. At least twice a week, in addition to those, there were about two child sexual assaults. Rape is the most under reported crime in America. I find your ideals on God's opinions to be very odd. JMO I'm glad you're pro-choice but those ideals seems very easy to state if you've never suffered such a thing. JMO Not if you look at world history. Most of the wars in history were based on religious differences. ? The point is that why do anti-abortionist care more about less cells in your fingernail than about living "out of luck" kids? If 20% of the anti-abortionists adopted a kid from an orphanage they would probably empty them. If another 20% adopted a black baby then those children wouldn't have to go overseas. The anti-slavery argument isn't a good analogy for this. In order to free a slave they would have to go to the south with an army. Adopting a child doesn't require any killing and in fact enhances lives.

Well the kitty did punch you. I hope you're happy. Does this mean you want to be p-whipped? Get married. Anyhoo, my point is that it's real easy to talk a good game but very hard to do so. If they truly cared about children their emphasis would be on the already born and hopeless kids. JMO
-
I agree. PUNCH!! That rises to an extreme level of idiocy. Saying pro-choice people are pro-murder is as stupid as pro-choice people calling anti-abortionists pro-Parkinson's disease, pro-HIV, pro-MS, pro-paralysis, pro-strokes and many other diseases that can potentially be cured by stem cell research. It's real easy to talk about being anti-abortion. It's not easy to take care of the kids who were not aborted. As I said a lot of anti-abortionists don't give a about the non-aborted kids while they talk a lot about a few cells being a human being.
-
First let me say that I'm against later term abortion. My point is so many anti-abortionists get so angry at the pro-choice people and yet they don't give a flying eff about the thousands of kids in orphanages in this country. They also don't give an eff about all the unadopted American babies. Why do anti-abortionists care about a few cells and flip off the children who have been born and are in desperate need of a home? When the orphanages are empty and all of the American born babies have been adopted then they can start arguing about whether a few cells is a human or not. I'm betting that guy couldn't give an eff about any of the homeless children.
-
I wonder how many adopted kids he has?

American Patriot charged with murder
Steely Dan replied to AlaskaDarin_Has_AIDS's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
What he said. Are you saying that they should have just dropped the money and said "Thanks for not harming anyone. Enjoy the food you're gonna buy! Bye Bye thanks for the lesson on starving Somali's?" BTW, here's something interesting about your food crap idea. “Right now they want to hold our captain for ransom, and we are trying to get him back,“ second mate Ken Quinn told CNN in a live interview after the network called the Maersk Alabama, which is homeported in Norfolk, Va., but operates overseas. “We had one of their hostages, we had a pirate. We took him for 12 hours. We tied him up. We returned him. But they didn’t return the captain,“ Quinn said. The captain was on a lifeboat with the pirates, Quinn said. “Right now we are trying to offer them whatever we can, food. It’s not working too good,“ Quinn said. He said the crew was communicating with the captain by radio. The company that operates the ship, which was hauling food for relief agencies in Kenya, confirmed that it was back in the crew’s hands and said the hijackers had departed with a crew member. Yeah, all they wanted was food for themselves, who gives a about the Kenyan's food relief? PUNCH!! -
