  1. Gabe Davis is going to look amazing on the other side of Diggs. Wasting money/time on Emmanuel Sanders was one of Beane's worst moves of the season (and he's had a few stinkers). This team is desperate need of interior OL and doesn't have that much cap - spending money on WR would be unfortunate.
  2. Stephenson needs to be benched - he's too close to losing this game. Boy I miss Roberts.
  3. Sigh - I knew that fake punt was coming - looks like TB did too In other news - WTF do they still rely on Breida for literally anything??
  4. It was a shocking cocky move to take two DEs and no OG's - they had to have thought Ford was an answer - obviously they can't evaluate OG talent.
  5. More importantly he said what I've been screaming for 2 years - McDermott thinks he can win with a bunch of undersized try-hards on Defense - they're built in his image.
  6. Other teams figured out their interior OL is trash - Colts and Chiefs both exposed them in the playoffs.
  7. They should put Lee Smith in there... Oh wait - we needed to get smaller so we dumped him.
  8. Defense is also undersized - they are built in the image of their coach - small try-hards
  9. Yeah - not going to say "terrible" but it's really unclear why he should get a big contract - he's still more potential than reality after 4 years.
  10. Can someone tell me what Beane's best offseason move was this year? - Didn't address the interior of either line - Breida as the only RB help - got rid of their toughest player (Lee Smith) - dumped their returner (Andre Roberts) and now they have two returners they can't trust - dumped Brown for Sanders? - Signed their undersized "LB's" (Taron Johnson who plays the spot a LB would play and Milano) to big contracts and we wonder why they struggle against physical backs? I'm usually an optimist but I'm struggling to like this front office this year - I hated every move they made and I'm sorry to see I was right
  11. At a minimum they need to get a real NT. Star is average and costs a lot. The fact that he LOST weight this offseason was a bummer - overall the front 7 is undersized - if they're going to line up in a nickel all the time and use a converted safety (Milano) at one of only two LB slots, they can't have a small set of DT's in front of them.
  12. Actually I think McDermott is very aware of it. His presser he all but said as much - saying out loud there's not much they can do at this point in the season. I remain angry at Team McBeane for doing absolutely nothing to improve the interior OL this offseason - all we can assume is that they believed in Ford and were counting on him to step up when they took Basham. Obviously that was a disastrous mistake. It happens. Hopefully they do a better job next year assessing OG's/C's and add at least 2.
  13. And assuming they're running behind a good OL, right? What an elite(1st/2nd) RB can sometimes get you is a little more out of a lesser OL and some good mismatches once he gets past the line - but I would always start with the OL first - especially since we are also trying to protect a quarter billion dollar QB!
  14. It could also be that a couple of 3rd round backs running behind a low-middle OL isn't going to cut it against good defenses?
  15. Yeah - that's probably right - they are slightly worse than average. Are you OK with that??? So sometimes against average and worse teams, they actually can run the ball well. OTOH if you want to be able to run the ball well (and give Allen time in the pocket) against playoff level defenses, being worse than average is obviously not going to cut it. As I've just said on another thread - the Bills haven't invested a 1st round pick on the offense except for Allen and Diggs. Almost all of their real emphasis has been on the D. They made the absurd luxury move of taking TWO DE's with their first two picks (a year after spending their #2 on AJ Epenesa) while completely ignoring their interior offensive line which was the most glaring weakness last year. Yeah they could have used a better pass rush in the AFC Championship, but what they really needed was a lot less of Josh running for his life. Same story in the Houston playoff loss the prior year, and in the too tight playoff win against the Colts - good teams can blow them up from the middle, and no QB or RB is going to look good when that happens. I was about to say "just imagine" but we don't have to - we've seen how really trash this OL gets when Brown (a 3rd rounder they really lucked into being an early starter) can't go and they have to use Williams at ORT and Ford at OG. At that point they become a good bit worse than average and when they managed to win is was entirely on Allen.
  16. Add in Cody Ford and one really has to worry that they suck at evaluating (and/or coaching) interior OL talent - not coincidentally the biggest issue with the offense and the real reason they looked bad in the AFC Championship, and against Houston the year before, and where they most struggled against Indy in the playoffs. Sure a better pass rush of their own would have been nice against KC, but that was clearly problem number two behind "Josh is repeatedly running for his life against interior pressure". Spending their first two picks on DE's this year was somewhere between a cocky luxury and idiotic. They needed help at OG and did NOTHING about it. They got lucky that Brown could play almost right away so they could move Williams inside - as we've seen, when they can't do that they are straight up helpless on their interior OL.
  17. I was only talking starters so Trubisky's kind of irrelevant (and God help us, stays that way!!) . He sure as heck doesn't qualify as "help for Josh". And yeah - I specifically called out Diggs - we can call him a first - I'm OK with that. As for other team's investments - it's true some players can develop into better overall players than their draft status, for sure - but who other than Diggs should we view as having risen to a 1st round "value"? Beasley?? Morse??
  18. I also have my doubts about the current OL coaching, though I also doubt anyone will argue Bobby Johnson isn't a huge improvement over Juan "Vlad DuCasse has incriminating pictures of me" Castillo. I won't blame any Bills fans for having blocked (pun intended) Castillo's tenure out of your memory. Two things about the offensive "talent" though. 1. Josh Allen is the ONLY 1st round pick on the offense. You can sort of call former 5th round pick Stephon Diggs a "1st rounder" based on the trade to get him, but there's no one else. For all the talk about the great Bills skill players, they've all either been mediocre, or for the FA WRs (Diggs, Beasley, John Brown) they've had their best career years playing with Allen. I guess Sanders would be an exception, but honestly he's pretty old/past his prime, and just the eyeball test with him this year doesn't impress. Point is, they haven't actually emphasized getting help for Josh. Allen (1st round 7th overall) Singletary (3rd) Moss (3rd) Diggs (5th) Sanders (3rd) Beasley (UDFA) Knox (3rd) Dawkins (2nd 63rd overall) Morse (2nd 49th overall) Williams (4th) Feliciano (4th) Brown (3rd) Cody Ford (2nd 38th overall) - that's right - the highest drafted pick on the Bills offense other than Allen isn't a starter and is looking like a massive bust Sadly, the best OL this front office ever brought in was 5th rounder Wyatt Teller - and they traded him away for peanuts - Castillo was the OL coach then, I believe?? Point being, yeah, we can worry about some mix of bad coaching or poor scouting, but the reality is that the team of Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott have simply not invested in the offense. For comparison, here's the first round talent on the Defense: Tre' White (27th overall) Rousseau (30th overall) Oliver (9th overall) Star (14th overall) Edmunds (16th overall) Hughes (31st overall) - steal by the Bills before team McBeane arrived - we traded a 3rd to Indy for their "bust"
  19. At some point McDermott has to seriously address why his teams always struggle at the LOS on both sides. Their run defense has been a constant recurring issue his entire tenure. If he needs a different player in there he needs to get them. Meanwhile, Josh Allen is still the only 1st round pick on the offense. They desperately need to take the OL seriously, which includes understanding why they whiffed so badly on Cody Ford.
  20. Milano is a strong safety trying to play LB and the Bills have committed a huge pile of money to him. He plays tough and fast, but he gets run over and eventually hurt every season.
  21. Paying for GamePass (which included the radio broadcasts) on top of SundayTicket is worthwhile just for this.
