Let us ask the important question. Why is health care so expensive? The answer is multi-faceted 1. Overuse of expensive and experimental treatments that aren't proven to be any better than cheaper methods. 2. Misuse/overuse of surgeries, MRI's, CAT scans, etc... 3. A very obese society that relies on medical treatment. 4. Lack of an independent center to evaluate new medical treatments. (European countries have these) Health care costs will only rise under any universal health care plan...as people will go to the doctor more as Uncle Sam will be footing the bill.

Someone please explain to me how Obama can get us out of this recession. His plan is to basically take money away from corporations, depreciate the stock market, and give hand outs. I fail to see how making companies cut jobs/raise prices will do anything to fix the economic woes this country faces. Not to mention any increase in capital gains taxes will severely stunt the growth of of the Indexes. His talking points seem to follow the line of "steal from the rich and give to the poor." Is giving people $2000 handouts really worth the loss of jobs that will be caused by it?

How is it ridiculous? Extreme taxes on the largest energy source in our country WILL translate to outrageous price increases. It's not hard to understand. Either they raise prices very significantly, or they go out of business, and if they go out of business prices go way up anyways. PS: I've never heard McCain say he wanted to put coal power plants out of business.
