  1. You, and everyone here, already knows the loose standard. Simply put, safe working conditions and 8-9 hours a day.
  2. They would go to jail if they told us. It's illegal to start a run on a bank.
  3. Just get to the point.
  4. Even if these countries unionized, they would still cost far less than American workers. They know that their entire economies hinge on the fact that they are cheap labor. They don't bite the hand that feeds (US labor unions) Unions are only necessary if there are not basic working rights. I don't think anyone here is a against that.
  5. They were necessary because people were working 16 hour days 364 days a year.
  6. In the late 1800's and early 1900's they were necessary. However, today they merely serve to make American-made goods uncompetitive. They slowly choke their companies to death (big 3), then get pissed off when they have to make concessions. Meanwhile, foreign auto workers are paid with incentive bonuses (unions are against performance based pay).
  7. So uh.... How are the big 3 suppose to make cars comparable in quality to foreign ones, if it costs them more to make them? That's the problem with UAW compensation not being almost exactly the same as foreign workers. As long as there is that difference, foreign cars will always be better as they have more money invested in them. In turn, that will make sales of foreign cars even higher.
  8. Ah yes... digg... where misinformation and sensationalism are king.

  10. The only people that should be allowed outside are emergency crews and soldiers. Besides, the Greeks favor wine over beer.
  11. It's time for the Greek army to impose martial law on their cities. If you are out in the streets you are shot on sight.
  12. I think the fact that the indictment is on the deal that Obama and Rezko made makes this way beyond simple association. I'm not saying this is true, but it warrants an investigation.
  13. Yes, because the Washington Times is totally making up the indictment.
  14. Windfall profit taxes? Redistribution of wealth? The left and the right want most of the same things, it just differs how they get there.

  16. Come on.... His campaign promises were way far-left.
  17. http://www.politico.com/blogs/anneschroede...t_.html?showall Another great moment in Gov. Paterson's administration.
  18. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1208/16292.html sounds good to me! <_<
  19. He is really your #1 player? He has almost nothing that it takes to be a good NFL QB.
  20. Tebow will go in the 5th-7th rounds.
  21. The union salaries/benefits are a major cause of this. He is pointing out what their salaries will be in 2010 because of how outrageous they have been in the past.
  22. $2000 more per car. I know quite a bit about unions. They are notorious for protecting lazy workers and fighting incentive pay. They are also overprotected by the government, and make our products less competitive. They know they can bend their employer over... and rape them at the negotiation table... because it would cost far more money to hire and train an entirely new workforce. The government coddles them because of their voting influence. In fact, I challenge you to name 5 laws which protect employers' rights..... (I'll be waiting) The current laws create situations where many companies have to cave to every union demand, and the unions are not oblivious to this. The UAW should take a page from the foreign unions and not bite the hand that feeds. The average American union is a relic of a time when they were actually needed.
  23. I think it would be pretty easy to convince a jury to find him not guilty. All he has to do is bring out pictures of Sean Taylor, Javon Walker, and Richard Collier... then they can have players like Roethlisberger testify that they were robbed at gun point. His lawyer can then play up the fact that it's virtually impossible to get a conceal and carry license in NYC. That should be enough for at least a hung jury.
  24. It costs the Big 3 $2000 more per car because of the unions. that is a fact. The fact is that the Unions are one of the major causes of this problem, and it's about time that they start giving concessions. Maybe they will pledge to work hard next.
