Lord no. They completly gutted the team. They lost so many players and coaches, it is unreal. Sure they have a stud rookie qb, but not even manning, who had a great rookie season, changed the win column much in his first year. I say they win maybe 2 more games this season at most.

You have to have the broncos on the mix somewhere. On paper, the bills seem the most improved. The only argument going against them is the offense is pretty much the same except for a few rookie linemen and a rookie receiver with the hire of a hot shot qb coach. All of the big changes happened on defense. And with so many changes, lord knows what is going to happen. Except Brady being on the ground a lot of course.

Positional Needs for DraftTek - June
DanInUticaTampa replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree that if there is a franchise qb when we pick, we pull the trigger. Fitz is good and all, but it would be smart to search for an elite qb while we have the luxury of not needing one right away. Wr and lb are probably next, depending on what happens with our new guys. -
Did T.J. Graham sign a contract?
DanInUticaTampa replied to ronhelms40's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Never saw it like that coming from the team. I have seen it come from players like crabtree saying he should have gotten paid more than the raiders guy that was drafted like 4 spots ahead of him. But that doesn't really apply here. It would be really scary if the bills come out and tell him they don't want to pay him 3rd round money because they think he is 5th round talent. -

Big Problems With Bills Offense ....

Since Freddie was a free agent pick up, he is obviously worthless. I am scared that our best pass rushers were free agent pick ups as well. Bad news! -
Big Problems With Bills Offense ....
DanInUticaTampa replied to Owen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It really is pathetic. Especially when you leave out the high draft choices like wood and levitre. I don't think there are "big problems" on an offense that finished in the top half of the league last year. Offense should be better now with more experience and more talent on the oline -
If the bills make the playoffs, anyone of those teams, besides the pats* are pretty vulnerable . Cinci and texans look good, but they are young. Broncos are a bit of a boom or bust team, imo. Baltimore and pitt aren't the same. Jests are the jests. Afc is just weak. If we were in the nfc, I would doubt our playoff hopes a lot more. I think we got a good shot in the afc.
-
I think there were other reasons for it, like to make up for Fitz'e arm strength and the overall talent at wr. Even if you want to knock the oline for not being able to pass protect well, gotta give them props for Freddie and cj's run game.
-
I guess it isn't a a black/white answer. For the game plan and what we did, the oline was pretty good. Talent wise it is suspect. You see tom Brady stepping back and holding on to the ball forever, and he would not have had that luxury with our oline last year. Not that matters though. He is going to have no time to throw against the bills even if they protect him with bullet proof glass and a brick wall! Go bills!

You gotta love the guy. He plays well and doesn't get injured. We need players like that.

Should Buddy Nix try and trade for Drew Brees?

Would be great to have breed, but I cannot imagine us having enough cap room to pay him what he wants -

Because mcnabb was great in philly, then he left and fizzled out. Kolb looked good in philly, vick looked good in philly, kafka looked good in in philly, I mean, when that many qbs look good on your team, you should be a qb guru. The only qb in philly that did not look good was young, from my memory. -
Saints shouldn't give brees a long term deal

You can loss off your best asset if you knock out other teams assets. Really explains the bounty thing. They didn't,do it to win games, they did it so they didn't have to pay brees all that money! Genius! -

Some goodbye music, tearful speeches, retiring the number he would have worn if he made the team, and finishing it off by throwing a perfect spiral off the helmet of Dareus, off the shoulder pads of byrd, and into the arms of Stevie in the endzone to be remembered on YouTube forever.... Until the internet dies, of course. -
What they wrote about us sums it up pretty well. I think they ranked Denver a little low though. And they made some good points about the jests. Also, I totally missed Saturday signing with the packers. I must have been too busy with bills news!

Some good stuff. Wilson was the one that told him over the phone that he was going to the wall. Wilson also told him that the only reason they waited until now was because they didn't want to add him to the wall while he was on another team, so that is why now. They also joked about the events over his termination, which I found odd. He says he always will have s soft spot for buffalo, mainly because those were his family years and its where his kids grew up, and it feels very much like home. His two biggest moves were hiring marv levy, because coaching is important, and signing Jim Kelly. Signing Jim Kelly made the bills relevant and was very symbolic, and changed the culture. He talked about team trying to trade for Kelly, with a young, good qb prospect and a lot else in return, and when bill brought the offer to Wilson, Wilson turned it down and wanted to do what it took to sign Kelly. Did say who the other qb was, but polian said he turned out to be nowhere near as good as Kelly. About the bills now, he.mentioned it took the bills two years after the signed Kelly to make the playoffs . He thinks the division is wide open, pats are not as good as they used to be, jests are questionable, and phins are rebuilding. He is not sure if the bills will make the playoffs this year, but stressed that Fitz needs to stay healthy and they are heading in the right direction

Flutie/johnson wasn't the last qb controversy we had. Edwards/losman was a pretty big deal too. Plus we had several smaller ones.... The wins/losses column for qbs is over rated. Vince young has a better percentage in the regular season than eli, so that doesn't mean young is better than eli. The bills had such easy schedules under jauron, jests and phins were jokes. Then fed Ryan came to town and jests got good again, and then the phins werent picking first overall anymore. The division got tough during jauron's last year, which was actually was his worst. If your offense is scoring a lot of points, but you still lose because your defense is garbage, then maybe qb wasn't the problem.... Though I still would like a top 10 qb instead of Fitz, but young is no top ten qb either. Unlike Fitz, it looks like young started out well and gradually got worse as time went on. Where as Fitz seems to have gradually gotten better, besides the.jeckyl and Hyde season he had at the end of last year. Plus Fitz has a relationship with these receivers and rest of offense. It would take time for young to build what Fitz already has
