  1. You forgot the last line - "That's the American way!"
  2. Why? IT is a pretty lucrative career track. (until you get outsourced to India... ) CW
  3. C -- except I'd qualify that by saying don't get a certificate, get your degree since you're so close. Lots of places won't even look at you without a degree. A certification just means you were able to pay money to pass a test, and most places (in IT, in the Twin Cities at least) don't give a crap about certs.
  4. Well, if it's anything like previous seasons, it probably will only last one or two episodes before they start merging the groups together. Yet another reason why it's a non-issue.
  5. Yes, it's about not having the same game every year and boring people, I never denied that. What I'm saying is that it's not a case of playing the "race card" in order to gain viewers as you're implying. But since you're incapable of actually debating anything without calling people names, I'll go elsewhere until someone with a bit more civility can come and discuss. CW
  6. Color is only different in those who want to make it different. This is a GAME that people are VOLUNTARILY joining. This isn't racial profiling or discrimination, nor is it a social experiment. They're not doing anything gimicky to simply gain ratings (they've started the game in all sorts of ways, this is just another one of the ways they decided to start grouping). It's a GAME. As long as people want to say, "Look, racism!" then we'll never stop looking at race and seeing people as people. For example, Sony published these ads overseas: http://www.consumerist.com/consumer/top/so...cist-185202.php From what I've read, people in the country where the ads were intended for didn't have a problem with it. But when people in the US saw them, woah! It's OBVIOUSLY racism, bad Sony!!! So call me "young man," but that's just because you're stuck in your old ways and thoughts. CW EDIT: Who would've thought that a Survivor thread could potentially be moved to PPP...
  7. You're being serious, not sarcastic...? They did something similar a few years back where they had men vs women, and old people vs young people. This isn't erally any different.
  8. Not only will you get better quality, but you'll be able to watch all of the other games in the league, plus get 2-3 minute highlights from all the games Monday morning (assuming you have a DVR), and get "ShortCuts" -- each game cut down to 30 minutes or less (every play, just removed huddles and commentary). Very cool. CW
  9. Well if it makes you feel better to berate people on a message board, knock yourself out. Must be compensating for something.
  10. When you say, "Anything for ratings," you put a negative spin on it, implying that it's a lame attempt to grab viewers. Survivor doesn't need to do anything like this to gain viewers - they're already one of the highest rated reality shows (any show?) on TV. So while they're doing it to stay fresh, they're not doing it to try and stay afloat.
  11. I wouldn't say they're doing it f or ratings necessarily (at least not in a negative way). They're just looking for minor little twists to keep the show slightly different than previous seasons. Nothing wrong with that.
  12. So the girlscouts are illegally scalping tickets?
  13. This board is much cleaner too - no huge images on every page distracting from the text. Keep it up, SDS.
  14. No, but I heard your cable did.
  15. Doesn't she do that anyway, just to look at the delivery guys in the brown uniforms?
  16. What happened to picture two...? And shouldn't this thread be titled LAMP? Looks cool though!
  17. My wife had back surgery last year, and it was supposed to be outpatient. The only reason she had to stay the night was because the surgeon didn't start until 4pm. She was a little sore the next morning, but we still went to the grocery store right after she got out of the hospital. Of course after that, she slept for the next couple of days. You should be fine
  18. Yeah, like you're buying an HD-DVD player anytime soon. (reverse psychology! )
  19. Excellent episode!
  20. I'll be renting at the very least. I'm more intrigued by this: http://hddvd.highdefdigest.com/missionimpo...temissions.html Might be buying that one... CW
  21. I know it's all computer related -- been touch typing since junior high, so that hasn't helped. Combine that with the fact that I work in IT so am in front of a computer all day, every day, and you have the problem. I'm guessing if I had a shot it probably wouldn't help anything long-term until I move up the corporate ladder. Problem is, I don't want to - I hate politics. CW
  22. Just came back up. It was down for over an hour. EDIT: Broken again... CW
  23. All sites except for Canada and Japan. http://isc.sans.org/diary.php?storyid=1624 Could it be a DDoS? Or did somebody over there really screw something up... CW
  24. Apparantly the internet hype didn't equate to ticket sales: http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=49822
