  1. Makes sense from where I sit.
  2. Our D was nasty those couple of years. I wasn't saying pass rushers aren't important or anything like that. I'll tell you this though I wouldn't want seantrel Henderson lined up against Bruce Smith. I actually voted for creating a sack being more important than preventing one but the conversation went on a tangent away from the poll. Rex pass rush is less about premier pass rushing talent and more about confusion. After reading hof Watkins posts I have to wonder what is the point of paying Glenn 12m a year for his pass blocking when the opponent can simply move their stud edge rusher to the sieve on the opposite side? Maybe in today's league you get more value from a left tackle who can protect once a likewise investment is made on the other side. None of this mentions my primary reason for wanting a tackle, that we're a run first offense and even our passing game is created by running the ball.
  3. A single protector yes but bookend tackles neutralize edge rushers.
  4. Makes a great deal of sense to think ahead this way.
  5. Only a flesh wound there be no need to bring out our dead. Me mother was a hamster you see, we're survivors.
  6. A little I'm hurt but not yet slain
  7. These lists are not complete. I count only 4 players on the nix list that worked out better than Manny Lawson yet Lawson is not mentioned. Where are Corey Graham nickell robey and Dan Carpenter. If half decent rotational players like alex carrington and cj spiller are check marks for nix then where are Corbin Bryant jarius wynn Preston Brown kiko etc for Whaley. Edit Kyle Orton too
  8. So nobody can disagree without being accused of this bbfs. I'm a Whaley believer but that seems like a cheap shot not to mention a logical fallacy.
  9. I agree he'd start there now and indicated as much. I agree he might be interested. I just think it makes no sense for the Bills to risk getting worse at the most pivotal position in the game for the sake of draft picks.
  10. I believe it was reported that Denver actually offered him more money than we did. After sitting for 4 years in Baltimore Tyrod wanted a real chance to play. I wouldn't be surprised to learn Tyrod would love to be in Denver but I would be surprised to learn he's willing to hold out to make that happen. Holding out when he's so close to the big money with the Bills is a risky play and not what I'd expect from the guy who watched flacco bet on himself and earn his contract the hard way and then did the same by taking less money in Buffalo.
  11. Competition for Miller too.
  12. Do you not think it's possible to have watched that game and come away from it not knowing who stripped Lee Evans? There's no test afterward. I watch all the primetime games and all day every Sunday and had only heard of Brown. It's not like I'm trying to remember the name of every player who makes a tackle. Still the who posts are inane I think we agree there. I'm glad you're as learned as you are and thanks for the info.
  13. Do we ever two gap in the nickel? Or does Rex consistently let them rush? I suspect the latter...?
  14. After this year we tag him and sign him. I don't see anything decaying just an agent doing his job while Tyrod calmly prepares to play.
  15. I feel the same way and campaigned for him to go. Now I'm in the hope against hope stage.
  16. I see 10 winnable games there. Cmon Rexy, prove us wrong.
  17. Not too surprising considering Micromanaging Marrone came from there.
  18. Very true. I wonder what kind of deal a guy like this can get.
  19. I like the sound of this. Could keep us from being desperate in the draft and keep Manny Lawson out at SLB where he belongs.
  20. It wasn't so easy to defend in SF. Woods ran faster at the combine than either anquan boldin or Michael crabtree. They are possession receivers both and we're already far ahead of the game with a unique talent like Watkins. The real difference is they had the best o line in football. It could help a little if we had someone a bit taller or a bit faster but the difference is being conflated. We actively work to pass the ball as little as possible and when we do it's often play action. Rex and Roman are going to live and die by the running game.
  21. Funny I feel the exact same way. Every single season of the drought I've desperately hoped I'm right, this year I desperately hope I'm wrong. Maybe it's a good thing.
  22. Offensive line. It functions well because it's well coached but if it had all pro players it would dominate. Roman has been this guy his whole career, he can't suddenly morph into Bill Walsh. Not under a head coach who does nothing to encourage that sort of adaptation. I'm not an ol purist like it seems but this is who we hired, and where we're at. Jmo
