  1. I don't have a replay of the game available to me, but I thought I noticed Peters getting beaten by KGB on the outside speed rush once or twice. I guess those didn't end up accounting for sacks though. From what I could tell, Gandy was solid, and both of them looked good in the running game.
  2. Yup. With the exception of Josh Reed, I can't see any of our current receivers being capable of shielding the defender off to help JP complete those kind of routes. Definitely not the contact-avoiding Price or the undersized Parrish, and probably not Evans either. With that all said, though, I'd still like to see them try a quick slant once in awhile because these deeper drops aren't working. With the combination of weak pass protection and an inexperienced quarterback whose being told to stay in the pocket, these deep drops are brutal. And if we can't specifically complete slants with these receivers, we should run some quick crosses, outs, and those WR screens we were running earlier in the year.
  3. They could have at least used "Little Pink Houses"...
  4. 822177[/snapback] Exactly. You said he made a mistake by not adding "prematured" in between "my" and "system". I'm just saying he didn't make a mistake, he merely chose to be less descriptive than you were. Omitting an adjective isn't a mistake, its just being more general. Therefore, by calling him out on a mistake that didn't exist, you were the one making the mistake.
  5. Actually, its his system, whether its "prematured" or not. You're both correct.
  6. I can't understand your thinking here Dax. If I have to win a big game against a tough defense, I'm taking Brady. I'm taking the guy whose successfully navigated the playoffs several times over the guy who falls on his face whenever he faces the Pats with superbowl hopes on the line. I'd throw those nice, shiny statistics of yours out the window because I want the guy who just finds a way to win the big games no matter what. You say Manning is the best "pure QB." What do you mean by that? I'd say he's closer to a classic prototypical quarterback...but Brady's still better. However, Manning is still a close 2nd and nobody else comes close to the two of them.
  7. Hey Joe, where you goin' with that gun in your hand? Hey Joe, I said where you goin' with that gun in your hand? Alright. I'm goin down to shoot my old lady, you know I caught her messin' 'round with another man. Yeah, I'm goin' down to shoot my old lady, you know I caught her messin' 'round with another man. Huh! And that ain't too cool. Hey Joe, I heard you shot your woman down, you shot her down. Hey Joe, I heard you shot you old lady down, you shot her down to the ground. Yes, I did, I shot her, you know I caught her messin' 'round, messin' 'round town. Uh, yes I did, I shot her you know I caught my old lady messin' 'round town. And I gave her the gun and I shot her! Alright Ah! Hey Joe! Shoot her one more time again, baby! Yeah! Joe where you gonna go? Oh, alright. Hey Joe, said now, uh, where you gonna run to now, where you gonna run to? Yeah, where you gonna go? Hey Joe, I said, where you goin' to run to now, where you, where you gonna go?
  8. Slightly off topic, but do you have numbers to back that up? I'd be interesting in seeing that. These posts need to go away. Those fans just don't exist.
  9. Am I the only one who finds himself not caring who the hell Whitner's backup is? Wire will be cheaper and he's good on the coverage teams, lets keep him and cut Bowen.
  10. Look through the thread and show me the post where somebody said McGahee is in the same league as Thurman. You're likely referring to Dax, who merely said McGahee's lack of heart and passion is a misconception. You're fighting a straw man that you built all on your own.
  11. Is there really a question here? Of course its Gandy, he'll need some sort of psychological and/or career help when we cut his a'ss.
  12. I saw one on our defense's first play from scrimmage this season. Lets be patient.
  13. The intro to PTI... Wilbon: Pardon the interruption, but I'm Mike Wilbon. Tony and I were both in Denver last night, but only one of us was able to get up this morning and get on a plane to fly back. Kornheiser: What can I say? Theisman and I like to snuggle.
  14. Clinton Portis - Ladell Betts LT - Michael Turner Tiki Barber - Brandon Jacobs Edgerrin James - JJ Arrington Deuce McAllister - Reggie Bush Rudi Johnson - Chris Perry, when healthy
  15. I like that. Lets get our feet under us, regroup, put the past behind and go beat a team that we ultimately should beat. 3-3 looks a whole lot better than 2-4. Go Bills!
  16. Dax, I'm a McGahee supporter but if the guy is so childish that he can't put up with having a backup taking 20-30% of the carries then let him go. Just look around the league, there's as many teams with a second running back who plays a role in the offense as there are teams that use a single feature back. He'd still be the unquestioned number 1, but it would be nice to have some versatility and a change of pace. I don't know anything about Wolfe in particular but if he could give us what Turner gives to San Deigo, than I'm all for it. As long as our 1st rounder is a left tackle!
  17. That was just a sneaky way of cutting him without actually cutting him.
  18. If you think this isn't explained by our offensive line play you're crazy. They gave McGahee NO room and NO lanes Sunday, especially when the game was close.
  19. Its a good point, and I agree with you. But if the whole team is imploding and everything is a disaster, we've got a bad D and little running game after 3-4 years, you've got to re-evaluate Jauron no matter who the quarterback is. But if the team is giving effort and playing well, but JP (or whoever) isn't getting it done and it looks like we're a quarterback away from contending, then he gets a pass for not winning in his first few years. In which case we go out and find him a QB who can win.
  20. Okay, so it was Bill Cowher having top 5 offenses with Kordell Stewart at quarterback. It can be done.
