  1. Why MUST we keep Kelsay? I'd like to see him back here, but losing an average lineman who only plays about half the snaps isn't going to make me give up on next year.
  2. In your opinion, do both guards need to be replaced? Is Preston falling short of his potential? Maybe this is why we can't run the ball consistently, although the pass protection has been solid for weeks now.
  3. Actually, McNabb has an 87 yard completion. I know ESPN has those QB Power Rankings (or something like that). I'm curious to see if ESPN takes off the blindfold and recognizes Losman's progress.
  4. Now that this thread has been officially hijacked , I figured I'd update the numbers to show our boy's progress through his first 14 games of the year, just cause its now an even comparison: Losman's first 7 games 78.9 QB rating, 61.9% comp (122 for 197), 6.7 ypa, 187.6 ypg, 6 TDs, 6 INTs, 21 sacks taken, 8 fumbles (5 lost) Losman's last 7 games 100.0 QB rating, 65.2% comp (107 for 164), 7.5 ypa, 176.4 ypg, 11 TDs, 4 INTs, 20 sacks taken, 5 fumbles (2 lost) JP's passer rating has skyrocketed (take with 1 grain of salt for best results), and he now sits at 9th in the league (88.5). His completion percentage is up a significant amount, his ypa is up nearly a full yard, his TD/INT numbers speak for themselves and he's cut back on fumbles. I believe the decrease in yards/game can be explained by the decrease in pass attempts. Losman is clearly making more out of each oppurtunity he gets to drop back to pass. I've got to say it feels good to not have to question our starting quarterback as we head into the offseason. Not since Kelly have we had the stability at that position to the extent we do now. I can't help but smile when I think of this kid's potential future. Now that I mention it... 868323[/snapback]
  5. As others have said, I think everything you did was fine except for the turning around after every score. There's no reason to turn around and taunt the other fans like that and you're kind of asking for trouble. But to be too timid to cheer on your team would be ridiculous, and when I go to East Rutherford I always get on my feet and make some noise when the Bills make a big play.
  6. I just crunched these numbers to show some nitwit on the Dolphins board who won't admit the Bills have gotten any better since the early weeks of the season. I figured since I have them in front of me, I may as well post 'em here. For those who are interested: Losman's first 7 games 78.9 QB rating, 61.9% comp (122 for 197), 6.7 ypa, 187.6 ypg, 6 TDs, 6 INTs, 21 sacks taken, 8 fumbles (5 lost) Losman's last 6 games 92.7 QB rating, 64.8% comp (94 for 145), 7.1 ypa, 172.5 ypg, 8 TDs, 4 INTs, 17 sacks taken, 4 fumbles (1 lost) It's great to see the improved TD/INT ratio and the cutback on turnovers in general. And his passer rating really shot up, for what its worth. The comparison would work better after his 14th game to even it out, but what the hey...
  7. Thanks for adding that, I was already cracking my knuckles for a drawn-out response.
  8. Man does that board suck. I just went over there (do I get put in the poll now? ) and all they post is pretty much 'our team will win, you guys will lose'. The morons just don't have the capacity to actually talk football, its sad. "Its like trying to watch a bunch of retards hump a doorknob." Go Bills!
  9. I'd say in the beginning of the season he looked bad because of the poor offensive line play, and this stunted his growth, but the improved protection has allowed him to grow and develop as a player. He's more comfortable and more confident now and an all-around better quarterback than he was a few months ago, and so he's more suited now to deal with a lousy line.
  10. Christopher McDonald in Celtic Pride. "No Lurch, I don't wanna see any of your bad crap...just stand under the basket AND REBOUND!"
  11. Right, I've realized I was actually referencing the following post made by JDG in the "Wade Phillips Syndrome" thread: And I believe JDG has a point there. You see Dibs, its one thing for Marv Levy and Tom Modrak to be talking to Nate Clements' agent right now, but its another thing for our head coach to be thinking about next year's personel at a time like this. Dick should be buried in X's and O's figuring out the best way to stop Miami's offense. Now pay attention because this is the most important part: I don't really have an issue with this. I'm sure it won't actually be a distraction and I'm sure DJ will have this team ready to go against Miami. But I just didn't think JDG's opinion was ridiculous enough to be flamed for it (along with his allegiance to the team questioned), and thats the only reason I posted in the first place. As I've said, I'm sure this won't effect anything, but IMHO it does seem like strange timing.
  12. Why don't you re-read his original post where he spelled it all out for you and explained a perfectly logical viewpoint? I'm not sure if anyone knows how to read around here anymore.
  13. Why should we read your posts when you don't read anyone elses?
  14. Peter of Quahog? (aka "Fat Man" and "Pita") You know, the guy with the talking dog and the evil baby.
  15. It is when its a new coaching staff. What can Matthews possibly tell them? "That Lee Evans...that guy is good." "Thanks, Shane."
  16. Just like my father, who made his family's living down in Jersey...and out came a couple of 2nd generation Bills fans. You better believe he's in front of the TV every Sunday making good use of NFL Sunday Ticket.
  17. Yeah he is, he'll be wearing number 11 and returning punts.
  18. Thats bull sh--, we can't pretend to know what Losman's teammates think of him. The way you get respect from your teammates is to play well, and he's doing that. He also takes responsibility for any mistakes the press brings up, and his teammates must respect that. For example, early in the year Losman threw a pick because of a poorly run route by Josh Reed (according to DJ), but JP took responsibility for it. That earns respect. He also constantly talks about how the Bills feel like a tightly-knit team, and the offense believes they have the players here to make this thing work. Not to mention I get the feeling from watching Lee Evans' postgame comments that he really means it when he says JP is our guy. And another shot at the Houston game showed JP jumping around with teammates on the sidelines after the score, everyone just going crazy and celebrating together. And during the Jets game, didn't Shaud Williams jump into Losman's arms after a touchdown? Signs may point one way or another, but there's no way for us to actually know what kind of response JP gets because we're not in the lockerroom, on the sidelines and in the huddle. But I see no reason why they wouldn't respect Losman, and I get the feeling they do.
