  1. I don't think a team as hungry as this one is really susceptible to trap games. To my knowledge, there's only one Bill with a Super Bowl ring. Other than he, most of the players on this team have experienced a very moderate amount of success, and in many cases altogether too much failure. For every Marshawn Lynch or Trent Edwards who could get overexcited, there's a Josh Reed or an Aaron Schobel to remind them how difficult it is to find success in this league. The head coach of the team is a steadying voice, who keeps himself on an even keel. A team that wants to win as badly as this one does will be able to keep their focus week in and week out. JMO, of course.
  2. Yep. You're one of the two or three who don't see the progress the rest of us see from year 1 to year 3 of this regime. We're good again. Some of you may have some trouble coping with that reality. Just don't do anything stupid, Sis.
  3. The idea is that they wouldn't see him. Only Bobby April. Gotta love the creativity.
  4. Well they both lit it up (Warner had 361 and 3 TDs, Cutler had 350 with 4 TDs, a pick and a 2pt conversion). Unfortunately I still lost by 7...but at least the 5 extra points I would've had from starting Cutler wouldn't have made a difference. Good to know I can leave Cutler in the lineup almost regardless of who he's playing. I think I'll test the trade market for Warner.
  5. Larry and Chad Johnson, and Shockey, thanks for those 5 combined points.
  6. I like it! Good post, PG. I think its safe to say you won't get admissions of error from the likes of Sisyphean or Bills Vet this early in the game. Tony Dungy went 51-20 (.718 winning percentage) and had 4 playoff berths in his first 4 years with the Colts, yet he still had his naysayers until he won a SuperBowl. Some people get so wrapped up in their opinion, everything they see only reinforces that opinion. Jauron going to the playoffs won't change anything: he'll still be overly conservative, playing not to lose, a lousy gameday coach, too nice of a guy, etc. Screw 'em. The rest of us know how far this team has come since Jauron took over.
  7. I've always thought Losman would be an interesting pair with Mike Martz. He'd be in a system where the quarterback is ASKED to stand in the pocket and look downfield on almost every drop back, even at the risk of taking a sack...alot of the time, there isn't even a safety valve. Martz accepts that some turnovers and sacks will occur, thinking he can make up for it with big plays. That seems to fit Losman's style pretty well. IMO Trent is already an overall better player, even at this early point. So this has nothing to do with Edwards (ok, Bill?). But I think if anyone can make a player out of Losman at this very late stage of his development, Martz is the guy. I wonder if San Francisco would be a potential suitor for him.
  8. There are people out there that liked Darick Holmes?
  9. Click it, Dean. Please.
  10. Just about 3 or 4 more inches. Lets not get greedy.
  11. Anyone who doesn't think this is a good thing is in denial about how good this team is.
  12. Easily Edwards. Freddy played a great game, but Edwards' performance puts me firmly on his bandwagon. This is a young quarertback who is ready to WIN GAMES right now. Full speed ahead, Turk.
  13. So...can Porter line up at WR?
  14. Well Hardy can be dangerous in the red zone. We didn't get to see that last week, because we didn't spend much time in the red zone.
  15. That avatar
  16. We dressed all 5 safeties last week, right? Maybe we could leave Bryan Scott inactive, so McCargo can dress and rotate against the heat.
  17. F*ck time of possession. Our defense doesn't need help getting off the field and staying fresh against a team missing all three of their interior O-linemen. The offense doesn't need to think about protecting the D. Just. Score. Points.
  18. Once he told his side of the story? I think you mean once he reported to the team.
  19. Walker has been taking most of his reps at right tackle throughout the week, and they'll want to get him used to playing that position again. That makes me think that Walker plays RT the whole game regardless, and if Peters needs a series or two off here and there, they'll just plug Chambers or Bell in at LT instead of moving Walker around.
  20. Thanks for the replies. Three of the 4 Yahoo! experts rank Cutler better than Warner this week, but call me crazy, I'm going with Warner. Though if Cutler has a good game this week, I'll know I have a guy I can start with confidence every week. But I'll take the wait and see approach with him for now, and start Warner, who feels like a safer play. Hope I'm not screwing myself over. Good luck this week everyone.
  21. Absolutely. He and Ian Eagle are my two favorite PBP guys around.
