I am an FSU fan and I can't believe how far they have fallen.

All the recruits they used to get are now going to Clemson and Alabama.

    Sad times at Florida State.

I watched the whole FSU game Saturday, just can't believe how far that program has fallen.  Blackmon is absolutely horrible.  The ACC really needs FSU/Miami/V Tech?  to return to their former selves.  Clemson is a one man show & from the little I seen from ND, they won't be challenged by them either this year although I do believe that game is in South Bend so that may help.

Run game:  Moss had 9 caries for 11 yards (7 on one carry).  He was a zero factor.  Same with Singletary.  This against a weak Jets D.  This needs to be figured out before October.

I think Greggo's strategy was to load the box & make Allen beat him, which he did.  Credit Dabol for letting Josh sling the ball 46 times yesterday & having faith in his young QB.

Clemson is a great, well coached team but their schedule is a yearly disgrace.

Well, in their defense it is not their fault the ACC is usually a one horse race.  FSU & Miami are not what they used to be.  Clemson also plays South Carolina at the end of the year, but yes they could get into one of those neutral site opening week games & play Oregon/Wisconsin or someone similar.  I am sure Jerry World or Georgia Dome would love to have Dabo & the boys roll into town opening weekend.

$190 seems steep for a Dolphins game during a pandemic.

To those of you going - good luck, be safe and be well.

When I was younger, every year we would make the trek down to south florida for the Bills game.  We usually had a group of 6 or 7 guys.  About an hour before the game we would draw straws and whoever got the short straw had to walk around the parking lot looking for tickets.  Some years seats were better then others, but we never payed more than $30 per ticker.  $190 seems very steep.

it’s absolutely embarrassing for this country that equality is a “political” issue for some.

Do you think guys like Floyd & Blake, both known criminals one who put a shotgun to his pregnant girlfriends belly and the other one a known rapist should be memorialized & honored while good police officers both black and white are being attacked and vilified by the actions of a few?

Yeah, you can say that again.

We will see.  I really think if neither team gets derailed by injury it is going to be Buffalo/KC doing battle for AFC Title the next 3 or 4 years.  Right now obviously Passing on Mahomes is hard to swallow but this Bills team is ready to take off.  It should be fun to watch.

What is wrong with playing in the spring? I really fail to see what the issue would be in starting a season in March or February. Yes it sucks but is it worth risking college students and their communities health for football at this moment? The NFL has athletes that can be isolated and they have the resources to test daily and create a bubble like atmosphere. Even the biggest college programs have the issue of their athletes having to take classes in person and may lack the ability to create a bubble like atmosphere. Playing in the spring a 2.5 month long season and then start the 2021 season in October to pad out the space between the next season and start 2022 as normal.

Absolutely terrible idea to start in the spring, it wont work.  You will have every kid that thinks he is going to get drafted opting out plus your going to have your team play in the spring, miss spring practices, & then start up a few months later, want to talk about dangerous.  Bottom line here is the Big 10 dropped the ball and they know it.  At least in football, your in a controlled environment.  It is probably safer than being at home.  Now if this whole thing blows up then I will come back here and admit I was wrong.

It’s surreal that we aren’t playing and it seems more and more politically motivated with each twist and turn. I’m depressed for real. Ohio state football is a huge part of life for a lot of people most of all those who live here. Sickening. They will play at some point, and we will still watch,  but it won’t be the same if they can’t contend for the CFP. This conference leadership is completely inept.

From what I have read, OSU is the most talented team in the country this year, yes even more talented than Clemson.  It will be a shame if they aren't part of the discussion when it comes to NC

PSU football doctor: 30-35 percent of COVID-19-positive Big Ten athletes had myocarditis

During a State College Area school board of directors meeting on Monday night, Wayne Sebastianelli — Penn State’s director of athletic medicine — made some alarming comments about the link between COVID-19 and myocarditis, particularly in Big Ten athletes. Sebastianelli said that cardiac MRI scans revealed that approximately a third of Big Ten athletes who tested positive for COVID-19 appeared to have myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle that can be fatal if left unchecked.

Sorry brother but that has been discredited.

You know you used to be one of my favorite posters, now I cringe when I see a post of yours.  You have your firm beliefs and that is fine, don't mean you got to force feed them down everybody's throat.

Big 10 doesn't play this year, it is going to cause major problem for that conference for years to come.  They are going to sit there and watch the SEC & ACC play this fall, and all the presidents of the BIG 10 will be sitting there with their thumbs up the asses.  Hopefully they come to their senses and start this thing up sometime in October.  Not sure if this is true or not but my friend told me that something like 9 out of the 12 presidents of the Big 10 are of scientific background.  Explains their boneheaded decision to follow the Pac 10 and bail out this fall.  Sometimes, your too smart for your own good.

and I know it’s not popular but I’d also guess more cases than given credit for actually traced back to these events

If hammer set up a huge screen, for instance, he would certainly be a draw still even for people not attending the game.

I always wonder why the media hasn't played up the cause of some of the spikes were indeed the protests.  I mean you got to be an idiot not to think the BLM protests didn't cause spikes but a guy going for a drink with 3 of his friends at bar would spread community outbreak.  It is actually become laughable what the media has become.  Same reason most of the media outlets are not reporting what is going on in Portland right now.  The footage of that couple getting dragged out of their vehicle & beaten to the brink of death has barely been covered because it doesn't fit the media's agenda.  The video was sickening.  Peaceful protests my ass.

We have a weak governor here is AZ, he opened up when we met none of the criteria to open and our cases skyrocketed, he did this the day after trump visited a while back.  As cases and deaths rose he abdicated responsibility to the Mayors and local governments, they're the reason cases are starting to decrease.

I will see a bad governor & raise you one.  Our emperor sent sick COVID patients into places where the community is most vulnerable, nursing homes where the results were numerous deaths.  Nice huh?

Correct but that poster was referring to the players who “entertain us for free”. We don’t care about the 4th string Qb with the headset who won’t see the field. We care about the stars out there scoring TDs and getting pick 6s on Saturday nights in prime time.they are those providing the entertainment for free. The new NIL laws will help somewhat.

Hey I am degenerate gambler, so I watch all conferences, and I was actually like watching the small conferences better because they are easier to line, especially in College Basketball.  I will take Cal Poly vs Bakersfield everytime over UNC/Duke on the hardwood.  My guess is most of those basketball players will never see an NBA Court.

What about the student on the biology scholarship? They get their education for free and aren’t generating millions for the university. Not to use the “Tom Brady was a 6th round pick” argument but what is Trevor Lawrence worth to Clemson? $200M?

The point being let’s stop pretending that the cost of the education is relevant. These guys are at the top of the world in what they do. They are generating millions and millions and millions for their schools. This is true, short-term and long-term. This is both direct and indirect. When I was a student at the turn of the millennium I didn’t generate that sort of revenue for my school. If you want to make that argument about rowers, lacrosse players, or tennis players -fine. Making that argument about power 5 football programs is asinine. The value that the players deliver to the university is FAR greater than the cost of the education. That’s why 40 of the 50 state’s top paid employee is a college coach. They provide a massive financial boost to the state.

Yeah your talking the very small %.  Most student athletes don't ever make it to the pros.  Guys like Trevor Lawrence, sure Clemson is getting a bargain.  To the 4th string CB on Clemson that is still going for that samefree ride, I think it is the other way around.  What about the guy who develops in college, and wasn't on anybody's radar but due to good coaching he is a marketable commodity in the NFL.  Look at Joe Burrow, that kid was projected as a 5th round pick, went down to LSU found the right system and a coach that believes in him.  I think both parties benefitted from that relationship.

& the players no matter what they say are still not playing for free, which was the point I was trying to make.

What’s your point to your comment then? Just stating the obvious? No *****, colleges are going to have to deal with a loss of revenue because their free labor won’t be able to generate money for them. Local communities that are all built around serving the public on game games are going to be hurt. Kind of sounds like the rest of America, and everyone is going to have to finally start wrapping their heads around the fact that life isn’t normal right now and lots of Americans are being hurt because of the virus. the #1  Priority should be defeating the virus and you can’t do that playing college sports. Public health has to be the priority of the majority of Americans but instead we want young men and women to entertain us on Saturdays for free lol.

Please don't say it is for free.  They get a full scholarship & top notch education if they chose to take advantage of this.   Ask a kid that is coming out of college in this job market with $150K in student loans if the student athlete is playing for free.

Is this carved in stone? I haven’t seen or heard of this from the Bills (or Erie Co.) but I don’t live there anymore.

I think it is subject to change & I could see the second half of the season Cuomo letting fans in especially if the numbers keep going down.  He did come out last month and said no fans at sporting events.

Poloncarz came out with a tweet over the weekend I believe that stated there are now only 25 hospilizations in Erie County now for COVID.  It is beyond common sense why they are not letting fans in at the Ralph this fall.

  16. Played basketball, baseball & football.  We were pretty good in basketball & baseball, football not so much.  I was the QB and would get pounded pretty good in the games, I was constantly sore during football season.  My senior year I decided not to go out for football and never regretted it.  It was actually where I first learned to tailgate.  MY friends and I would buy big gulps & fill them up with booze and would tailgate right in the parking lot and the teachers were none the wiser.  A few of my friends worked at Danny's (by the airport) & actually had a key to the place.  They would steal anything from strip steaks, to burgers & a couple times even lobster tails and we would grill out at the tail gate.  Here we are 17 year old kids not a dime to our name, grilling lobster tails & strip steaks before a high school football game right in the school parking lot.  Some of the times faculty would stop by and grab a bite to eat before the game.  I think some of them knew we were drinking but noone ever said anything.  They always thanked us for the food.  Much simpler times back then.  I miss those days.

Exactly. To say what is happening currently "doesnt matter" is just a cheap and easy (and invalid) way out of a conversation they know they can't win.

WRT the nursing homes. It's not good, but mistakes happen. Especially when dealing with little info, and little help from the leaders above (Feds) who once again abandoned the American people. The important part is seeing the mistake and correcting it as quickly as possible. Just like we teach children, admit your mistakes and address them to get them fixed. Seems some adults could use that lesson as well.

As opposed to being 4 months in, having plenty of information, and still choosing to do the wrong/dangerous thing.

It is same thing as what you are doing, saying things in the past don't matter.  When this is all over NY will be in the top 3 states of both cases & deaths.

  18. I was a longtime season ticket holder who dropped seats 5 years ago.  I bought tickets back in Feb, 4 of them & was pretty excited about going.  I figured my son only has a few years left before he is off to college & wanted to spend the time with him.  1 of my friends jumped in too.  Plus my son was getting his license towards end of summer so I wouldn't have to worry about driving!

I chose the refund though, even if they let people in, it probably will be about 15K fans, with no tailgating, at least on the Bills lots.  I don't know that is just not the bills game day experience to me.  I plan on getting them next year but the money I am getting back I am going to get a new TV & surround sound for my basement.  It is what it is, disappointed, I just hope things are better next year.  I think they will be.

How are things going in Georgia vs NY right now?  Their King down there saw they way to avoid what has  come to them, and he chose to let them burn.

    This is weak trolling...

Yeah yeah we know because anything that disagrees with the left on this board is considered trolling.

It doesn't matter what is going on now, NY right now has/had the worst numbers.  That is a fact.

Did or did not Cuomo order nursing homes to take in COVID patients & then lied & back track about it?  Maybe if you had a love one in a nursing home you would feel differently about our dictator.

  20. 19 hours ago, DrDawkinstein said:

Yeah, who needs real leadership with low case and death numbers which will lead to a faster re-opening? We're good with just letting people needlessly die here in GA! Lockdown to 2022!

This is laughable, NY has over twice as many cases as Georgia & nearly 10xs as many deaths due to Covid.  Our King up here in the empire state ordered sick COVID patients into our nursing homes(the most vunerable) and then tried to back track & lie about it.  Part of the reason NYS death rate is so high.  Our dictator is anything but a leader and actually should be put behind bars.
