  1. Hootie has said that he would welcome Wie if she qualifies. And she isn't doing this for money either, she is still an amateur.

    382531[/snapback]

That is absolutely right...Hootie has come out publicly and said if Wie wins, she's in.

God, I'm sooooo sick of this issue....Michelle Wie, Danica Patrick, and Tom Brady are the most over-hyped female sports personalities this century. When will the madness end?!?!? :D

  2. The article states:

"The unofficial “legend” among long-time fans was that the number was not issued because it was reserved for the official team logo."

    Bills logo

I just wish some more light was shed on the mystery: why number 31, and was 31 officially NOT issued because of the logo? Unless I missed it, and that's probably the case, Lynch does a poor job in explaining any significance of the logo. (Maybe it's like the Rolling Rock '33'? )

    Mark VI?

    Rockpile?

    Buehler?

    Anyone?

  3. I doubt anything happens to this windbag...he's as close to a "god" as anyone can be around here...he is right under Joe Gibbs. The local media clowns love this guy, especially Tony Korhheiser and dope George Michael, always referring to him as simply "Gary." "Gary said this, Gary did that," etc, kinda like he's a one-named celebrity, ala Madonna.

I would be very suprised if this "incident" made any hay.

  4. Pittsburgh ('92 playoffs): Spit at by some unemployed steel worker...that was it. After the Bills win, fans wished us luck. :D

Jets, Meadowlands: Nary a peep.

Baltimore: Last year...Bills fell behind early and wasn't bothered. :P

Washington (Fed-up Field and RFK): No hassles. ;)

Cleveland ('89 playoffs): Almost as many Bills as Browns fans...was in the middle of a Bills crowd...even had Genny Beer on tap, felt like I was home.

  5. You know Ned, I've heard that from a bunch of people who live in the Baltimore area.  Some go down there just to tailgate.  They say it's that good.  Then again, Baltimore hasn't got a clue about what a great tailgate is.

It is most definately worth the short drive from Baltimore...the trick is finding a designated driver for the ride home

  6. There are many different frequencies you can use.  I was using 88.1.  But what I did was buy a tape adapter for lets say a portable CD player, plug it into the back of the sirius and then put it in the cassette player.  Sound increased tremendously! Cost $20 bucks.  And I also dont have to worry about losing frequency.

This scenario should apply to XM as well, no?

  7. "Christ, Kassulke was running around there like a Chinese fire drill..."

Stram: "Mr. Official, how can six of you miss a call like that?"

Ref: "Better step back coach, or I'll call one for you being on the field."

    Stram: "Whaa....WHAT?"

  8. From the NFL Sunday ticket site:

    "Special Early Bird Offer

Get the 2005 season of NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ for 4 payments of $54.75 (available to existing DIRECTV customers only). That's a $20 savings off the regular-season price."

So if yer an early bird, you can get it for about $220. After that, $240. And that's IF you're a current DTV subscriber.

    Better Check your bill, chief.

Chief? Hah! Jokes! I get jokes! :)

Squaw: Here's the deal. You quote "Get the 2005 season of NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ for 4 payments of $54.75 (available to existing DIRECTV customers only). That's a $20 savings off the regular-season price." The key here is "existing DIRECTV customers," not existing ST customers. I will pay $49.75/month for four months, starting in July, which comes to...wait a minute while I get out the abacus...$199.

Hmmm...just like I stated earlier. Strange, huh?

  9. I have been using Direct TV for the last 8 years (I use Verizon DSL for my internet

NFL Sunday Ticket is one of those things that I put my foot down for every year no matter what....If I have to go out and friggen mow lawns to come up with the renewal money I do it (I usually get my boy out there to help me...:(

I have a 60 inch TV that I bought a couple of years ago....my recently install swimming pool.....the fairly nice Brinkman Grill to cook on right next to the pool....and my NFL Sunday Ticket......

Football season is BLISS for me.

I also get to see my lakers without having to pay extra.....so I have the best of all worlds

    What's your address again?

  10. My ticket to the home opener at Rich in 1973 was $7.00...it was a mid-range ticket, as I believe the prices were $9 for lower bowl between the 20s, $7 for upperdeck and upper end zones, and $5 for lower end zones...

The real question is, what was Hammer charging to park the Dodge Duster in '73?

  11. Don't know if this has been covered, but I heard for the first time yesterday on WTEM in DC that ESPN Primetime will cease to exist once the new TV deal goes into effect in 2006. The reason is, is that NBC will now have the Sunday night games and part of the deal is that ESPN, or any other network, cannot show highlights until 11:00 PM Eastern. Whether NBC will put together a highlights show has yet to be determined.

I found this news a little sad, as I've gotten use to the Boomer and Tommy show...unlike the lame pregame shows on all networks, I thought Primetime broke down the games pretty well...it was a good show and I'll miss the "Nobody circles the wagons..." intros by Berman. <_<

Again, if this has already been debated, I apologize.

  12. 15 is an interesting ride...there's usually contruction somewhere along it slowing things up for a bit. There's a stretch where it seems like there's a McD's every 5 miles, and every 10 miles or so there's at least porn and/or fireworks shop...been to some of the McD's, not to any of the other two.

And don't forget Clyde Peeling's Reptile Land...after dozens of trips from DC to Rochester, I finally stopped to check it out. It was in November, so it was pretty much deserted, but they have any interesting collection of BIG snakes, gators, and crocs.
