I'm pretty sure I was here from the start, or at least close. I know I signed up in '98 at what was then called HyperBills (weird name) and was affiliated with the Rochester D&C.

Same here, I was one of the refugees from the HyperBills board.  To quote a famous band of musicians, "What a long strange trip it's been..."

As a matter of fact, I just bought 3 Bills @ Commanders tickets on SeatGeek.  The transaction was fine and I got the digital tickets.  The price and fees were painful though.  Local Washington fans cannot believe how expensive the Bills game is.   The Mafia is jacking up prices everywhere.  It's way more pricey than the home opener vs. Ariz and even more expensive than the Eagles game there (which is always sold out by Philly fans taking an easy road trip).

Yup, the Bills only come here once every eight years, so it's a hot ticket.  Listening to the local sports station the other day, WJFK, and they were talking about if the Snyder-less Commanders can win back the fans.  There was much talk that the home opener vs. Arizona will be packed with Commie fans but they conceded that the Bills game may look and sound more like Orchard Park...😆

  3. Saw this in Peter King's column this morning:

"Lazing around at home one day in June, I turned on the Yankees-ChiSox game, and the starting outfield for the greatest baseball franchise of all time was, left to right, Jake Bauers, Billy McKinney and Willie Calhoun. And that wasn’t the only time it happened."

What do they do for a week? Lol. Have meetings? It just seems really early. I thought they reported like a day or two early.

Thinking the same thing...I've seen ESPN and Sal C mention this, but nothing on the Bills site...report where, SJF?

In the interest of shifting the subject away from truly bizarre and cringe-y boasting about intelligence and back to the main subject of the thread (newspapers), I found this interesting: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/07/10/business/media/the-new-york-times-sports-department.html. The Athletic will be the NYT's actual sports section going forward now that the ages-old NYT sports section has been eliminated.

Saw last week that the LA Times is pretty much ditching sports, not printing box scores and other news and sporadically mixing in some  sports stories.  This and the NYT decision is another in the now long line of decisions that will ultimately lead to the death of newspapers in this country.  It's indeed sad, as I subscribe to the daily printed edition of the Washington Post and am left wondering how long that paper will last.

there's on opening soon in rochester too.  i hope it's somewhat close the the quality of the buffalo location.  they had an anchor bar here for a while that did not go so well.

You'd think they would want it open before training camp at SJF starts.
