  1. It'll be a WR or CB.
  2. That makes 7. They have room for 1 more. 2 if they get someone from another league(NFL Europe or something).
  3. ESPN isn't impressed either. Or how about Sanchez's lack of Cojones.
  4. With our defense, I'm pretty sure Fitz will be more of a game manager and less of a gunslinger. He will feed Fred.
  5. There's room to add more. Wonder who?
  6. Stevie Johnson, WR Donald Jones, WR David Nelson. WR/TE TJ Graham, WR Scott Chandler, TE Fred Jackson. RB CJ Spillet. RB Brad Smith, QB/WR/RB Dorin Dickerson, TE/FB/RB Corey McIntyr, FB That's a lot of pass catchers.
  7. The thing that I liked about that second game last year was that the Jets defense got too aggressive and Fitz was able to use that against them. It's definitely going to be a fun game to watch. They like to bring all kinds of blitz packages. They roll the dice when they do that because they try to get the QB before he can identify the soft spots in the defense. The problem with that is Fitz is very good at identifying what a defense is trying to do. The Jets may try to play a different game this time around and put more guys in coverage. If they do, the run game gets involved. Man, I am stoked for this season to start!
  8. I think the Bills will run the ball. They have to. They can't have Fitz drop back every play. The offense did score 24pts against them with a lot of guys injured last year. That defense is tough, but I can see Fitz managing the game with a good mix of run and pass. I also think that defense and special teams will be a factor. I'm feeling pretty confident against this team for a change. Apparently, I'm not the only one. Check These Predictions
  9. Maybe. I'm curious about final roster moves. Some of the recent cuts have me scratching my head. I still think they are not finished looking for more talent to add.
  10. Gailey can draw up the plays, but the players have to play. I see the offense getting the running game going more and adding some wrinkles we did not see last year. The defense is what I am really pumped about. Being a Bills fan just hasn't been the same these last few years without a pass rush. I'd like to think that the defense will provide the offense enough opportunities to run a ball control ground and pound scheme with a few twists hear and there.
  11. New ball cap, can of Blue lite(I have to watch my figure) and an easy chair.......let the games begin.
  12. The Buffalo Bills have been flying under the radar even with the major off season moves like Mario Williams and Mark Anderson. Meanwhile, New York is grabbing headlines like this Chicago Tribune article. We know the Jets have a run stuffing defense and a good number of blitz packages, but their offense is mediocre at best. Last year the team capped off their season with a 3 game losing streak that kept them out of the playoff picture. Their offense only needed to be somewhat competent but failed to deliver leading the team toward the head scratching acquisition of QB Tim Tebow. How do the Bills stack up?
  13. Nah.......it fell yesterday. Just waiting to see what happens next.
  14. Dickerson is a big guy who can catch and block. Do you guys remember seeing a training camp video of big Corey McIntyre catching a pass out of the flat and taking it to the house? Everyone on the team was kind of chuckling because Corey isn't exactly a speedster. Later in the video it was mentioned that Corey was being asked to catch the ball more. The team was very successful early last year running the ball with Corey lead blocking, then defenses got wise that it was a run play every time Corey was in the game. Having these big guys in there who can run block and catch adds an additional wrinkle to the offense. I think guys like McIntyre, Dickerson and Chandler are going to have their hands on the ball a lot this year.
  15. Anyone here have high school kids? This is a pretty cool link.
  16. I think he will make some plays this year and make a some key blocks......maybe even run the ball. Nice video on BuffaloBills.com
  17. Does Chandler get a bigger role? Does Corey McIntyre catch some balls? Will Dorin D. be used in the passing game? Will having TE/FB/H-backs more active disguise whether the play is pass or run? Will Fred and CJ run the dang ball more? Will the world come to an end if we beat the Tebow lead NYJs?
  18. Only 4 CBs on the roster for game one. McGee and Brooks made it past the final cut but neither will be playing against the Jets. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2012/9/1/3285394/buffalo-bills-ron-brooks-injury-foot-surgery
  19. I really do think the Bills intend to run more. That is why they brought in an Hback which theoretically is a cross between a TE and FB. Dickerson can catch, but I don't really see him as a great blocker. That's what is so confusing. At the same time, the Bills have been trying to get Corey McIntyre involved more with pass catching. Though he isn't great at it, he's a good blocker. It seems to me they are looking to utilize a player's strengths but also be able use them in other roles as well. Someone else pointed out that there are 9 or 10 guys who can catch the ball on this team even with only 4 WRs. I kind of think this is what Chan wants. A bunch of guys who can do multiple things, making it very difficult to sniff out a play. I remember someone last year on this board was complaining that every time Corey was lined up, it was a run play. In the off season Corey was getting a bunch of practice catching the ball. Dickerson is known for catching but they brought in a TE coach who stresses blocking. The more I look at it, the more I think the Bills have a plan. Almost every skill player can do more than one thing. Let them play the run and then pass. Let them play the pass and then run etc...
  20. Never really considered him a real QB that can play a whole game. Just like I wouldn't want Fred or CJ as signal callers for a whole game. I do like the roles that CJ and Fred are in now and don't want to change that. Both all ready average more than 5 yards per carry. Why mess with that? As for Brad Smith, I think it's good that he got a lot of time practicing the QB position in the off season and I'd like to see what he can do before declaring that he should be flat out cut.
  21. I think most of us get what you are saying. He will line up in the QB position though, granted it will only be in the wildcat and not as a real passing threat. I do think he will throw though, maybe only once or twice all season. If you line up in the QB position, you are the signal caller and you take the snap, you are a QB. Not really disagreeing with you, just looking at it a little differently. I don't see him as a real QB either
  22. Thigpen did show some improvement in the final preseason game. Hopefully, he can use that as a confidence builder and continue to improve. Fortunately, for him, he got one more chance. My guess is that the Bills will keep him for the remainder of this season and bring TJ up to speed slowly. I don't think it would be wise to throw TJ into the fire too early, so Thigpen's job is secure for now.
  23. I just found that article. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2012/8/8/3227496/buffalo-bills-fred-jackson-cj-spiller-chan-gailey I thought it was kind of interesting. The Bills averaged 6.2 yards per carry using 2 backs.
  24. Actually, we did run a lot of 2 back sets last year. I read an article a while back about how successful it was. The thing is, many people forget that the extra back was Corey McIntyre. I was actually pretty surprised by how many times the Bills used that formation. Wish I could find that article.
