  1.

It's unlikely a QB taken after the 1st rd will get a second contract with a team because it's unlikely he'll be given a chance. Still this statement is false David Garrard got a 2nd contract.

Thank you. I doubt there is any fanbase in the NFL better able to come up with excuses NOT to draft a QB.

  2. Is it just me or does it always seem like, while lacking perfection, the college refs are much less involved in the outcome of games?

Totally agree. Seem to be fewer phantom PI calls in college and the instant replay system seems to work better, too.

And by the way, I LOVED that onside kick! The chances of recovering are actually quite high when the other team is not expecting it (i.e., the kicking team is not in desperation mode).

Clemson was the third youngest team in cfb I believe - they could very well be back next year IMO. Watson is too good. Dabo is a great recruiter too and they will be hungry.

And, most importantly, they play a cupcake schedule every year.
  3. No its allowed

but lets do it in the proper context.....ALL GMS do this

Of course. In general, it's not fair to say "why didn't we draft Antonio Brown in the fifth round?" But sometimes there are specific players that certain teams absolutely should have seen coming. In this case, Bryant since the Bills were obviously scouting his college team carefully and he is such a standout athlete. Russell Wilson is another example, given Wilson's outstanding college career and the Bills' crying need for a QB at the time, not to mention the worthless player they selected instead.

Was buddy drafting in that draft for us?

    No. Whaley.
  4. You are not alone. Piss poor judgement inserting themselves into the outcome of the game. Should bring an NHL refs group to educate the NFL refs on game situations and how not to insert yourselves into almost every game at the wrong time.

So the hit on Brown was not a personal foul? Or should you be allowed to criminally assault another player just because it's a close game?
  5. The Burfict hit on Brown was the most reckless and dangerous play i have seen all year. It deserved an immediate ejection. The ball was well away and the 170 lb receiver was completely defenseless. To top it off, and maybe it shouldn't matter, but Brown is also one of the best and most exciting players in the league. Now he is likely out for at least a playoff game.

The fact that some are "outraged" by the call is incomprehensible. Football will always be a dangerous game, but garbage like that has absolutely no place in it. And anyone who thinks the game is becoming pussified, feel free to strap on the pads and go out there for a kickoff or two, then let us know what you think.

  6. Must have been some red flags on him, otherwise why would he fall to the 4th round?

He was a number 2 receiver in college, for obvious reasons, so he did not have a ton of targets. Still managed 20 YPC on 42 receptions.

they had 5th round grade on him i guess. the cockrell pick 5ish picks ahead of Bryant should have been the play.

Just like the 4th round grade Buddy pinned on Russell Wilson.
  7. Revisionist drafting is my favourite activity.

I see. We're never allowed to criticize a draft pick because "hindsight is 20/20"? Rubbish. The Bills obviously warched a TON of Clemson tape in 2014. Is it not fair to ask why they didn't pay sufficient attention to a guy like Bryant, whose talents are pretty hard to miss?
  8. I know it's not cool, but I think Simms is the best. He does not get too hyped up, doesn't hero-worship and doesn't tell us that something happened when clearly it didn't. I see a lot of complaints about Simms but no specifics--just, "he sucks" or "I hate him". Not very convincing. What specifically do you not like?

    Nantz, I agree, is awful.
