Eben Britton Will Be Our 2nd Rounder.
ax4782 replied to CJPearl2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Everette Brown, Phil Loadholt, or Connor Barwin. One of those three. You can take that to the bank. F-ing Patriots picking twice ahead of us. -
What do you all think about taking Everette Brown in the second round? Would be a very good value.
-
Don't think we should go TE in the second. Very good LBs and OLs still available, positions that are higher on our need scale. Would love to see us take one of the two tackles remaining in Britton or Beatty. Otherwise, would like to see us get Maualuga if he is there, but I doubt he will be. Get Chase Coffman in the Third Round if you want a solid TE.

Why dont we trade up to get Maualuga

Guess I was wrong. Buffalo better move on it before the Patriots get him. -

Since Maualuga will be gone by the time we pick, I think we need to get an OL or a DL or the best OLB available. No fooling around. -

Broncos are going to take him after that trade. No question. Buffalo was too slow if they were in the bidding sweepstakes to move up. Getting Maualuga would have made this one of the better drafts this decade. -

The Patriots will pick him if we don't. Really wouldn't want to see that. -

Most of the people who are complaining are the "always haters" who would claim that they would rather have any of our backups starting over our starters and claim that they know more about football than the entire coaching staff and FO put together. Anyone who knows football can't really complain about these picks. They are solid players who fill desperately needed positions. Maybin could have been Orakpo or another DE, but he could be solid, though I have questions about him. But Wood is a really solid pick. Looks like another Kent Hull. -

Wonder why Laurinitas is off the board before Maualuga. He is dropping fast. I also think maybe we should move up and get him if we can do it for relatively cheap. Say, like, an extra Fourth that we got in the Peters trade. -
Would like to see us take William Beatty or Eben Britton if they are available when we pick or TE Jared Cook out of SC. Better TE than Shawn Nelson in terms of pass catching. Otherwise, we could take a DT or another G. Buffalo needs more help in the trenches and we can get a really solid player at 42.
-
If we want Maualuga or Laurinitas we are going to have to trade up in the second round. Would love to get either of them, but if we stay put, I think Buffalo needs to go OL or DL again. This draft has solid lineman on both sides of the ball, and that is what we need to get better. If the Bills don't take a DT in the second or third, look for them to make that rumored trade with the Jaguars for John Henderson.

I think that line up is good, but I would like the Bills to draft a OT when they pick in the second if William Beatty or Eben Britton are still available. At that point I think they are more value than a reach. Then Chambers can be a backup at LT or RT and we can move Walker over to LT. That would give us a line of Walker-Hangartner-Wood-Butler-Beatty. That would be a very solid line up. The line up stated is an serious upgrade from last year, but could be that much better if we picked up a solid OT in the second round. I think we can get a good TE in the third or fourth round so that's not much of an issue.
-
I would love to see the Bills go line again, if William Beatty is still available at 42. I think his value is right there. Wood was a great pick. Big nasty center in the mould of Kent Hull or Nick Mangold. A great addition for us. Would like our next pick to be either OT, TE, or OLB, whichever position has the most value and best player for our needs.

Round 1, Pick 28: ERIC WOOD, C, Louisville

Would like to see us go OLT in the second round or move up and try to get Maualuga early in the second round. Either one would fill a need and do so with solid value. Britton may be gone, but Beatty will be available in the second round. I'd love to see us get him and put him at RT and let Walker play at left along with Chambers. That would be a pretty solid line. Walker-Hangartner-Wood-Butler-Beatty. -
Absolutely. The kid is a solid pick and I like the fact that the Bills so far are focusing on the lines. There are a lot of talented inside offensive linemen in the draft this year. I think our second rounder is going to have to be either another OL or an OLB. Maualuga is dropped and I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't trade up in the second round to get him if he is there early. Wouldn't cost us much either, probably just that extra fourth we picked up.

Round 1, Pick 28: ERIC WOOD, C, Louisville
ax4782 replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan 2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's a solid pick and is certainly an upgrade on the interior of the line. He's big and has a mauler reputation. Our line has lacked toughness and this guy is definitely an improvement. Allows Hangartner to move to his more natural position at G. -
We need a tackle. Get Oher if he's still available.
-
How about moving up for Michael Oher or Brandon Pettigrew rather than Peria Jerry.
-
Yeah. I think Michael Oher is still available. So are William Beatty and Eben Britton.

Round 1, Pick 11: AARON MAYBIN, DE, Penn State
ax4782 replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan 2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Living in Michigan I saw him play plenty in many of those big ten games. Mayock was right about him. He definitely has a fast first step, but he can't play against the run. I saw him get blown up on running plays by TEs and driven off the play. Imagine what Jake Long is going to do to him on running plays. We'll be playing defense with ten men because he'll be driven out of the play. -
My guess is that Buffalo will make a deal to move up to Atlanta's #24 to take Brandon Pettigrew. It will cost us our new 4th from Philadelphia to do it. If we don't move up, I think we take the best T on the board.

I understand the guy has serious potential, but we don't need potential, we need a guy who is an immediate playmaker. I don't know if I really like this pick. -
Orakpo would be fine. I would also be all right with Oher or Pettigrew. Too bad Raji went to GB. Oh well.

The National Football Post's FINAL Mock Draft

That actually wouldn't be too bad. Certainly would be an instant upgrade to the pass rush.
