  1. I don't understand why it would get reduced. In the eyes of the NFL, he is a repeat offender. It doesn't matter if he's guilty of not, his name is in the news as an NFL player who was arrested. That's the real problem here. The NFL frowns upon this type of publicity.
  2. Maybe they just got the DNA results back?
  3. It may just be me, but ever since the Bills announced that we were going to target "character guys," we have had anything but.
  4. Probably no takers. Teams are getting very stingy with their picks nowadays - even 4th or 5th rounders.
  5. Can't another team grab any player off your PS as long as they place them on their active roster? If that's so, then even landing onto our PS will not guarantee that he will still be ours. A team would really have to want him though.
  6. But, he's an undrafted free agent. Many teams have already decided to pass on him. Something big will have to change between now and then because if another team decides to snatch him up from us, they will have to place him on their active roster. Funny thing is the same thing happened to Peters at one point - we waived him - but no other team picked him up.
  7. We've also signed a chick, Ashlee Palmer. J/k. It's some dude. Actually sounds like a stage name.
  8. This could be a good insurance policy going into camp. What if either Levitre or Wood bomb?
  9. What's there to explain? I thought she was the head o-line scout, before being promoted to Vice President/Assistant Director of College and Pro Scouting. I really didn't say anything classless or anything the could be construed negatively. What don't you explain yourself?
  10. Oh gosh, that's horrible. Wasn't she the head o-line scout for the draft?
  11. But it's not accurate. If we did not draft McKelvin, we would have drafted a different player in the first-round and kept Greer. So, the trade should actually be Greer + a first rounder for McKelvin.
  12. This has smokescreen written all over it. This guy, intelligence and attitude-wise, sounds like a mix between Jason Peters and Mike Williams. No way do we burn a top-10 pick on him.
  13. There is always one team every single year that picks a head-scratcher. This is hardly a newsworthy comment.
  14. What do you mean? Jauron's on the block too?
  15. Well, I would hope it would light some fires under these players. Jauron certainly won't be lighting any fires under them, so Russ has to. However, I can just as likely see some players thinking they're being "disrespected" by all this trade talk (especially if they think they're worth millions!). I'm glad someone is going through this team and trying to eliminate the dead wood. Kelsey? Simpson? They come cheap, but are hardly impact players. Is Denney still on the team? Can he be traded too?
  16. From looking at the photo in the article, I believe you must have mistaken Williams for the guy on the right instead of the left.
  17. Either that, or he was showing a deep concern for public safety in trying to attempt to put-out any potential fires. As for the hugging, it just shows he's a man with a very loving nature. With all the other horrible things athletes have been accused of lately, hugging should be applauded.
  18. Here is CNNSI's take on the news conference. What I find very interesting is how the media can take a quote, but spin it totally differently. PFT's quote: “I was thinking about it sometimes,” he said. “If you get beat on a play and you think about your contract. It doesn’t affect me that much. I thought about it some early in the year but later on in the year it wasn’t a big deal.” CNNSI's quote: "I was thinking about (the contract) some times last year. It didn't affect me that much. I thought about it some early in the year, but later in the year it wasn't a big deal." http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/foot...s.ap/index.html
  19. We traded for a guy in the draft? I never knew you could obtain college players in the draft via a trade.
  20. I think that last part is more accurate. Peters probably wasn't even present at any of the negotiations. The Bills probably kept telling Parker about the 11.5 sacks and he probably just wasn't passing the information along. Parker was probably afraid Peters would just say "just sign it then". Still, it's hard to believe he wouldn't know his sack number. I guess that's a sign he just didn't care. Someone should probably tell him how many of those sacks lead to fumbles or Trent being knocked out of the game.
  21. This reminds me of that Probowl comment he made at the end of the season. Funny thing is some people around here were defending that comment and saying it meant nothing. Wonder what they think of Peters now?
  22. A couple of years ago we spent nearly a $100 million on our OL too and look where it got us. Anyways, I don't think Peter's replacement is going to play any worse than he did last year. Remember, he gave up 11 sacks, some of which lead to costly fumbles. If his replacement gives up less sacks that lead to fumbles, I say we improved. That said, Peter's has tons of potential and could have played much better last year. He purposely dogged it and if he was going to have a repeat season, then we don't need him around. Apparently, if a player wants a better contract and/or force a trade, they just have to stink it up one season.
  23. Yes, he did. Remember Ralph and TD held a presser to introduce him as our 1st round pick the year after we drafted him? Lol.
  24. Nah. Word is he was regularly texting one of the D lineman.
  25. True, Kelly and Smith were no angels, but the whole city would have been shocked if Thurman, Reed, Talley, or Smith were arrested (minus the asleep at the wheel incident, which came later on) during the early 90s. Is this what we should be accustomed to each off-season? Should we start office pools for wins during the season and arrests during the off-season? Yes, T.O. is one of the best, but is also one of the most volatile in the league. Only time will tell with that one. I'm not disappointed in the football aspect of the off-season, but the FO just seems to be making this stuff up as they go along (Trent texting Russ to get T.O.?? I hope that's an embelished story). As for Peters, let's just move on from this soap opera (gaining a 1st and 3rd from an undrafted FA sounds fine to me). I'm sick of the arrests and sick of players unhappy with their contracts. We never had to worry about these things in the past. I'm starting to think maybe the agents are just trying to take advantage of Russ's GM inexperience.
